You guys know KMFDM? They kinda tend to have political lyrics and stuff, I dont know if you like them, but I think they are really cool.

Tim Skold (now Marilyn Manson) used to be in it, maybe now you know who they are ;)

lol back in highschool one of my friends was madly in love with depeche mode .. we convinced her that KMFDM stood for Kill Mother Fucking Depeche Mode... she hated them for ever... and even now (like 10 years later) i don't think she actually believe that it stands for Kein Mehrheit Fur Die Mitleid (roughly: No pity for the majority).

Yah they did the MDFMK thing, but now they are KMFDM again, they have a new album called World War 3 (it has been out for some time)

But their songs are cool, the song World War 3 is pretty political

KMFDM = Kein Mitleid Fur Die Mehrheit (not kein mehrheit for die mitleid ;) )

But in the song 'Light' KMFDM mean Keine Macht Fur Dich Mehr

Nickademus was actually right. It's Kein Mehrheit Fur Die Mitleid. Some people often get confused because Sascha says Kein Mitleid Fur Die Mehrheit in the song "Megalomaniac."

This forum is a little dead, but I didn't see it until now :lol: . Speaking of their German heritage, if you get a chance there's a song by KMFDM and Rammstein called "Evil German Techno." I think the name is halarious, it's a good song too.

As far as I know, KMFDM were always very obscure about the name offering both "Kein Mitleid Fur Die Mehrheit" and "Keine Macht Fur Dich Mehr" as the explanation. I even read something about a competition that was started to come up with the best name using the letters. The whole Depeche Mode thing was also believed by a lot of people because the group were so obscure about the name.

The competition was about the best name, but rather what the name in it's creators context was. I don't know the German, but I have always heard it as No Mercy For The Majority.

In regards to MDFMK, it wasn't a KMFDM thing, but rather a Sascha thing if I remember correctly?

Why did Rammstein and KMFDM do a song together? I have a remix of the Rammstein song Rammstein by KMFDM, but what is this other song like?

Marxist from Nebraska introduced me to KMFDM, not personally though. I haven't heard that there was such a band until he told me and sent me an MP3 file of their song "Stars and Stripes". I thought they were pretty good, I just don't like the women falsetto background bit.

I don't know why they did actually. My girlfriend downloaded it and sent it to me. It's only music and no words so for all I know could just be mislabelled. But it sound slike rammstein for sure. Haven't really listened to enough KMFDM enough to know their techniques. I love groups that get together to make songs though. Usually some of the best stuff in my opinion.

Hmm...they always seem to have had female singers...I like the one they have no: Lucia Cifarelli...very good looking too, got drunk with them when they were here :D I wanted to talk politics with Sascha, btu he was too stoned/tired :lol:

@ComradeChris: you need to listen to more of their stuff, they are very different than Rammstein.

The shirts for the 20th anniversary tour sold out so quick. I snagged one, but I'm waiting for an email to see if there are more.

Some of the people there surprised me. The goths didn't, but the metalheads worried me (as in, KMFDM's politics possibly oppose their's).

The only annoying this is that I didn't get to meet Sascha personally, and I had like three opportunities. No four... Three in the street (I wasn't sure if it was him, but seeing him in concert confirmed it), and also I heard two days late that the band went to the biggest goth club in Melbourne straight after the concert...

But the concert was good. :)
