Request for Ideas... - I need a bit of your imput here...

I am wondering if you people would be willing to give me ideas on how to convince people that our ways can be helpful to our 'Doggie-Dog' world of capitalism. Especially at this time, people are unwilling to accept any foreign or otherwise 'un-american' ideas. Obviously lamenting in the corner of my basement over how pitiful the world has become isn't helping me either. I need ideas for some way to express myself and actually reach out to people. Especially since everyone (At least the males) at my school are far too ignorant to pay attention to anything I have to say, let alone agree with my ideas. I'm about the only communist in my town. I have roughly two other Anarcho-Commie friends, and I live in a no-name suburb of Chicago, and am fourteen. This makes it extremely dificult for me to go on any protests, or have acess to transporations to other states. I need ideas, not propoganda, but ideas. Strategies to convince those who seem to be hard of hearing. I will be grateful for your opinions on what to do. Thank you.

Well this may sound kinda boring but you could do a massive school project on a political topic of your choice.

You don't have to do the 'Capitalism is bad' expose but you could talk about Free trade or the Maoist guerilla in Nepal. Get some good facts and you'll be believable.

Some people will probably don't give a fuck about what you say but with luck you'll spark interest in one or two of your fellow students.

Sorry that's the only idea that came to mind.

Oh, you could also express yourself through your clothes. For me, my political views are so important that I want everyone to know how I feel about some issues. I have a shirt (some I made) that says Destroy Fascism, another that says Fuck Governmental Advisory Explicit Attitude, one with a big red star, another with a barcode and the word CIA...

Anyway... hope that helps!

Hmm, I like the shirt idea. But because I am partially arabic my heratige, I am prone to various beat ups and death threats at my school at this time. I would rather not do the school thing out of fear of getting killed. I might be able to get a Che Guevera shirt from my friend though..

It is easier to ask question than to answer them.
When I join a new group I ask questions. What does your dad do? such like. what team will win the cup.
Then I go on how much money sports stars get.
Let it sink in,
I tend to try and slowly draw out peoples sense of injustice. That gives me a common bond when I talk about the environment and the ozone layer.
I tell them I am worried. It starts them thinking.
Try not to alienate yourself and be friendly and supportive to all the victims of bullying verbal or otherwise. Become a bit of a hero in their eyes if you can. be yourself and let your conidence develop naturally. Don't push yourself, dont be hard on yourself,
dont be hard on others. Take it easy but take it.
