On top of the screen you will see the Che-Lives banner along with the Hammer and Sickle on the left, the "A" for Anarchism on the right, and a rose in the middle. Does that rose have any significant meaning?

I think it's either a symbol of environmentalism, or its a mary-j flower.
...or it's there to take up space

I figured it was for Socailism.

You figured correct. ;)
That there rose isn't a symbol of environmentalism. That rose isn't a symbol of love. Nor is it merely the Mary-J flower.
That rose is the symbol of Socialism.

Plus, that rose isn't a rose :P
It's a carnation. Even if Labour-style "Socialists" are attempting to hijack the symbol, it goes back a very long way to represent the worker's struggle.

It isn't it a symbol of the 4th international? Are we still on number 4?

Yes, the NDP in Canada are a member of the 4th international (or something along those lines). In any case the rose is the symbol of the organization of which they are a part.

The 'rose and fist' design which i believe is the symbol of the 4th international can be found on the NDP site here (http://action.web.ca/home/ndpnpd/en_aboutus.shtml?sh_itm=f86b129a614c845040d4ceed83 7a84cb)

Good point, the rose is the one being used by social-democrats and uggh... new labour.
If you notice at the top of the page, this is a carnation, not a rose.

I always wondered if in europe I'd be considered a social-democrat.

The NPD is NOT a member of the 4. International. They are members of the socialist international. Which organises socialist and socialdemocratic parties.
But both internationals are rather dead imo.

I haven't read enough of your posts to summarize on your political beliefs, but if you wanted to be a Social Democrat in the UK all you have to do is wear a carnation. Tony Blair after all was a Conservative in his early years (and new labour ARE tories after all)

The rose is indicative of the fragility and softness of much of the left.

Oh hey there CI. I tried to send you a PM but your box is full. I'd thought you'd like this as an avatar to combat the Che shirt fad these guys are going though.

If you bothered to read you would probably know it is a Social Democratic symbol. And the right wing leaders of these parties are actually your allies since they help keep the status quo. The danish bourgiosie and countless others are well aware of the fact, it seems only their stooges ain't. Says alot about your level ehh?
Yes I don't like the flower as a political symbol because here it's only seen as reformist. But it's not a big point :)

True that .....
If it was not for capitalists utilizing socialist ideas, you would have been overthrown a while ago. You should kiss their feet!
