Today, in Bush and Sharon's press confrence, said Bush that "the solution for the palestinian refugees will be found in the palestinian state and not inside Israel". He also said while refering to the 'settlements blocs' that "the reality in the region have changed during the last decades and the final agreement must adjust to it". About dismantling settlements in the West Bank he said that "it would have to wait for the final agreement".

Bush wants to save his career by showing at least something who looks as though it goes in a peaceful direction, to try to make the american public ignore his failure in Iraq.

Sharon wants to save his career by showing the govermental legal advisor and th israeli public that he is going in the direction of a "historical move", and therefore the corruption cases against him must be closed so that they won't disturb him.

Bush and Sharon agreed on the "Disconnection Plan": a one-sided withdraw of Israel from Gaza and 42% of the West Bank. This 42% are being now surrounded by the famous apartheid wall. I am adding a map of it.

It appears that they want the palestinians to build a 'state' on these territories. Maybe that is even the 'state' they want the refugees to return to! But actually, their real goal is to keep settlements (they appear to like the grounds stolen from the palestinians), yet not to 'worry' about the palestinian civil population. From the "Disconnection Plan" forward there'll be no need for the IDF to provide food, water, medicines etc. to the palestinians, since they will be considered 'independent'.

The Israeli Communist Party has opposed Sharon's "Disconnection Plan" and Bush's "Road Map" since they lead to no peace. They will only breed the continuation of the bloodshed, prevent independence from the palestinian people, deepen the poverty among the palestinian population, and by that produce "human bombs". We call for an independent palestinian state on all the West Bank and Gaza, the right of the refugees to return to their homeland or receive consolidation, the dismantling of all settlements including those in East Jerusalem and a fight for social justice on both sides of the green line.

this is not going to have any good results.

how come a jew from anywhere in this world, can settle in israel without any problems, yet a palestinian who was brought up in what is now israel is not allowed to return to his or her home?

the UN has passed many resolutions stating that palestinian refugees have the right to return to their land, yet the u$a and israel do not allow this to occur.
