YOUNG LEFT

WHO WE ARE:
We are youths who are organizing as a response to
increasing unemployment, racism, war, environmental
destruction, poverty, privatizations that are the
reality of the so-called success of global capitalism
and the corporate control of our society and the
world.
We stand with the 12 point program of the Rebel Youth
Network, an independent youth network of revolutionary
Youth organizations, to challenge this reality of
capitalism and imperialism.
Rebel Youth Network seeks to unite youth into CANADA
WIDE youth movement to act together with all
progressive sectors of society.
We stand shoulder to shoulder with 107 organizations
and millions of revolutionary Youth as members of the
World Federation of Democratic Youth.

WHAT WE DO:
We combine political and cultural activities
organizing educational discusssions, film nights,
sports, youth forums on a variety of issues plus
helping to build rallies and other protest actions. We
also run 'liberation schools' in our communities to
educate youth on how to fight for their rights against
racism, police violence and exploitation in the
workplace. We engage in labour solidarity actions and
conduct international exchange programs and
leadership/organizing training workshops. We also
produce buttons, t-shirts and other materials. We also
run the following ongoing initiatives:

Cafe Che is an ongoing series of public events that
combine politics with cultural activities, such as
musical performances, spoken word, etc, to create
space for youth on the left to meet, socialize and
network, which is currently held on a monthly bases in
Toronto by YL-GTA.

Decipher Red Youth Program engages youth in the theory
and practice of radical thought and the history of a
variety of revolutionary movements.

The Spot is a youth centre in downtown Kitchener that
aims to unite all youth to fight for social justice.
Opened on May 1st, 2001 by the Kitchener-Waterloo
Youth Collective, The Spot is a 1,500 square foot
space in the Kitchener downtown core. The Spot is a
safe space for youth; a place where youth can get away
from the street and harassment they face from police
and security guards.

YLiterature is a series of pamphlets that reprint
articles and speaches by a variety of authors such as
Fidel Castro, Mao Zedong, Amilcar Cabral, and various
international solidarity organizations.

Liberation Schools host study groups dealing with
different ideologies, historical epochs, and a variety
of viewpoints.
