Thought you cats might want to know that Steve Soderbergh - 'Sex, Lies, Videotape', 'Traffic', 'Ocean's Eleven', 'Solaris' - has been named to direct 'Che' the forthcoming film about Che Guevara: 'Che'. According to my sources in the industry, whoever was meant to direct it has been dumped and Soderbergh has accepted the project. He's starting shooting the sequel to Ocean's Eleven about now, then Che will be his next film.

Schweet. Steven Soderberg is a good director, and combined with Benecio Del Toro will make an awesome movie.

A friend printed out something like this and showed me. Sounds very cool. Summer of 2005 I think is when the film should be ready.

I think Terrence Malick wanted to make another movie instead "The New World", and gave the Che project to Steven Soderbergh.

I think Robert Deniro should play President Barrientos of Bolivia. He looks just like him in a picture I've got

I'm very excited about the movie especially because it is about che before the revolution. From what I have read about the movie it is based off the motorcycle diaries. Also, Javier Bardem is in it which is also great, i wonder who he will play...
