one thing is for sure, whatever people think of him he can speak for a long time. speeches of 7 hours.... he is a great speaker. he is so fiery and has gestures and the lot. i would like to see him speak before he dies, i want to go to Cuba next year.
I wonder what the future has in store for Cuba and what she has in store for the future.

I also like Castro's appearance in the movie Scarface at the beginning
when Castro said:
" No los Queremos !!!, No los nesesitamos!!! " which in English means "We dont want them, We dont need them"
he was refering to the Cubans who did not want socialism

Mussolini was a scumbag, but he was very charismatic and a passionate speaker. Fidel did indeed during his university days study Mussolini's style, realising how powerful speech can be as a means to unite and inspire the people.

a futher twist to the tale. Mussolini was a marxist when he was younger. wierd how people sometimes get into something and end out the polar opposite.

he's an awesome, charismatic speaker. Just by watching him you can tell he has passion. I'd like to make it to one of his long speeches too.

Hopefully I'll hear him this summer. I will be talking with some government officials whilst in Cuba this summer, and also visiting schools and hospitals, so I'll make a note to report here what I find over there.

Yes, I heard something about that, strange how people can end up. Stalin at one point trained to become a priest, now THAT is wierd

well Stalin was a horrible speaker, he read a speach like it was a railtime table, he lost himself all the time and he never got passionated about anything. If you want speaches www.Sovmusic.ru has a category whit many speaches by Stalin, Lenin, Berija, Kalinin and others. No Castro thou
On Sovmusic.ru there is a speach by Berija on Stalins funeral, if any russian member would care to translate it i would be most gratefull

Back to the topic of Castro's speaches; I have a book of his speaches from 1999 to 2002 and they were very good in content as well as, i presume, delivery.

You can read all his speeches on a cuban website ;-)
http://www.cuba.cu/gobierno/discursos/
Moreover, his speeches are translated in several languages (Español, Inglés, Francés, Portugués. Italiano, Ruso, Arabe, Alemán), it's very cool for non-spanich people :)

Yeah well look at what they did to Cuba. I find it horrible that the UK sides with those 'colonial rebels' to be honest. Those rebels lost them an empire, yet still they back them? Totally nonsenical to my mind.
