hey,

everyday i get crap pumped all over my tv with (usually negros or mexicans) sex, racism & drugs which is pushed forward by these so called rap-artists and yet they have the audacity to blame shit on metalheads like myself saying that we are hateful , close minded and we advocate murder and other assorted scallywag behaviour when in fact its these "rappers" that treat women like dirt, do drugs, use firearms without cause and make racist style remarks and lyrics i know of very little metalheads that gunned down someone due to drug deals.

Right.... OK on first reading you sound kinda crazy there Eugene, maybe you should edit it so people don't think you're being racist with the references to minority groups.

Metal is alright, not my cuppa tea though.

There is a difference between MTV rap and really hip hop rap.

So that norweigen evil metal band that robbed graves and brought their corpses on stage weren't being a bit strange?

Or the metal bands who burn down churches?

Or the metal band who killed their bass player because they didn't like him anymore and though he was "selling out"

P.S. If metal is so great why doesn't every one like it?

Digital Nirvana you are refering to the norwegian Black Metal scene and yes they are fucked up. Varg Vikerness of Burzum has even turned nazi now.
But to use this against all metal is just stupid and ignorant.
So just because Wattie of Exploited is a fascist prick all punk is fascist? Nah I don't think so.
Bands like Napalm Death, Nailbomb, Orbituary has always been somewhat to the left. And as in other musicscenes there is also rightwingbands.
There's lot's of cool metal as well crap. As well as lot's of punk is crap and some is cool. If you love music you will look behind the narrow confinements of genres. When I did a whole new world opened before me. Judge music on it's own terms is my best advice to you.

Metal and rap are totally valid musical styles.

None of them or bad they just have diferent audiences.

As for the people who kill for the music, well i belive someone was wrong with them way before they starded listening to music.

Someone move this shit to Music.

As for metal, my view of it has been tarnished by the fact the vast majority of its listeners seem to be lobotomised. Go to a Converge show for evidence of this. Fucking meatheads.

Actually it used to be a bit different in Denmark. When I started going to shows when I was like 14, the most openminded people were the ones listening to Death Metal. While the punkscene consisted of arrogant people who looked down on you if you didn't have the "right clothes". I dunno how it is in USA though

i mean i have gone to a few metal concerts and i know alot of people that listen to metal and most of them are just different people with a good sense of humour and an urge to have some fun.

I wouldn't know how it is in the US since I'm in the UK. The drunk punk scene is pretty much as you describe. The fanzine I write for called it "one great big frat party". The hardcore scene's about right round here in my opinion.

There's a TV show that you might like talks against all that negro and mexican music, it's called the O'Reilly Factor, you should check it out, you'll like it.

when in fact its these "rappers" that treat women like dirt, do drugs, use firearms without cause and make racist style remarks and lyrics

Racist remarks coming from someone who calls them negros, geee, let me think...

You're an asshole for believeing that the pop-rap bling bling shit you see on TV as true Hip Hop before coming out and making blanket statments like this.

There is another funny thing here too, you're raging against the metalhead sterotype that people push foward on you, and yet, you're putting foward the typical, ignorant, bullshit sterotype of what rap is.

You are closeminded.

Atom and his Package

Hats Off To Halford Lyrics

When you think of a metal head tell me what comes to mind
Well maybe stone washed jeans a mullet
A guy who is evolutionary one step
Well when Rob Halford came out of the closet it may have not been a big thing
Well today we are one step closer to hearing the metal dudes sing:

"I want to be I want to be a homosexual"

Statistics say chances of being gay are what one in ten
That means there is a 40 percent chance that one of the guys in Pantera likes men
So I think its safe to say that many more other metal guys are homosexual
That may frustrate the gay community, why would they want the ugly metal heads available
See I told you metal dudes are gay too and I happen to see the proof so far that your sexuality determines the way you play guitar
I'd love for everyone in heavy metal to be homosexual if not only to make the nazi fucking pricks in slayer a little uncomfortable

I wouldn't really call them nazis. I know everybody thinks that because of the song "angel of Death" but read the lyrics then. It ain't nazi. Arya just seem to be quite interested in WW2.

1. only one black metal band has burned down churches... that was the norwegian dude "Greven"(translation; The Count( that burned down three churches, I think, killing a fireman aswell in the last fire, and he also stabbed a friend to death, someone running a "black metal"-themed shop, under very strange circomstances.. anyway thats pretty much the entire norwegian black metal scene, consisting of this one dude, and his one person band...

but for the bass player killed was for a better reason than "selling out" but i dont really remember why...

and for those who brought out dead bodies on stage, why the hell care, they were dead already....

yeah, im starting to be a bit proud of being a norwegian now... thank you...

I don't think that Slayer are actually Nazis, I think it was just a misconception that has become a "truth". I'd say they're probably quite racist though a lot of people try to claim they're not cause they're once toured with Sepultura, I think that was them anyway.

Or maybe even some progressive metal bands of the modern day. There was some band who's name I cant remember who dress up in ancient eygiption shit and have this well good lead vocals. This girl really can sing.

Ahh well... let's see....

I've been a "Metal head" for a very long time. The first concert I ever went to was in 1984.. "Iron Maiden: World Slavery tour."

I'm still a metal head, however have never really understood or cared for "Death Metal."

I like a wide range of music and I don't care what color the singer/band is or if the worship Jesus/the devil/ or a 57 chevy. I remember when OZZY's records were being burned at my mother's church because he was a supposed devil worshiper who bit the head off of a bat, had a song that encouraged kids to kill themselves, etc... Granted that OZZY is beyond a doubt totally insane, but so what? I liked his music not his lifestyle.

There's an antidote to this problem, and it is to refrain frowm watching television. Especially mainstream television, where some of this 'evil negro mexican music' seems to be coming from. I also regret to inform you that rock/metal has it's fair share of drugs use, violence, and sexism as well. Also, don't accuse people of making 'racist remarks' after you yourself rant on aboue 'negros and mexicans'. I'm not sure what you had in mind when you started this post, but it seems to just be causing you to lose a lot of credibility.

im not ranting about negroes and/or mexicans but simply saying that they are usually the people i see that are rappers....ive only heard of 2 white professional rappers ( i hate them both) ...50 % of my friends are aboriginals and negroes and some of my most loved heroes are mexican ....i have no problem with any race except the certain groups of people that use their race against others and i wasn't saying that metal doesnt have its faults buti find their lyrics alot more meaningful e.g. sepultura's refuse/resist ...compared to someone yelling smack my ***** up ! Immortal Technique- Cause of Death

And just so Conservatives don't take it to heart
I don't think Bush did it, 'cuz he isn't that smart
He's just a stupid puppet taking orders on his cell phone
From the same people that sabotaged Senator Wellstone
The military industry got it poppin' and lockin'
Looking for a way to justify the Wolfowitz Doctrine
And as a matter of fact, Rumsfeld, now that I think back
Without 9/11, you couldn't have a war in Iraq
Or a Defense budget of world conquest proportions
Kill freedom of speech and revoke the right to abortions
Tax cut extortion, a blessing to the wealthy and wicked
But you still have to answer to the Armageddon you scripted
And Dick Cheney, you fuckin leech, tell them your plans
About building your pipelines through Afghanistan
And how Israeli troops trained the Taliban in Pakistan
You might have some house niggaz fooled, but I understand
Colonialism is sponsored by corporations
That's why Halliburton gets paid to rebuild nations
Tell me the truth, I don't scare into paralysis
I know the CIA saw Bin Laden on dialysis
In '98 when he was Top Ten for the FBI
Government ties is really why the Government lies
Read it yourself instead of asking the Government why
'Cuz then the Cause of Death will cause the propaganda to die..

Mr. Lif- Home of the Brave

Headline: Bush steals the presidency
He needs the backing of the media what could the remedy be?
The country's headed for recession reminiscent of the Great Depression
Are lives worth a world of power? Easy question
Planes hit the towers and the Pentagon
Killing those the government wasn't dependant on
It's easy to control the scared so they keep us in fear
With their favorite Middle Eastern demon named Bin Laden this year
Bush disguises blood lust as patriotism
Convincing the living to love "Operation Let's Get 'Em"
But when he realized we don't support their attacks
They needed something to distract, hmm, anthrax
This further demonizes Afghanis
So Americans cheer while we kill their innocent families
And what better place to start a war
To build a pipeline to get the oil that they had wanted before
America supported the Taliban
To get Russia out of Afghanistan
That's how they got the arms in
They're in a war against the Northern Alliance
And we can't build a pipeline in hostile environments
Here's what your history books won't show:
You're a dead man for fucking with American dough
They killed several birds with one stone
While you're at home with anti-terrorism up in your dome
But my eyes are wide open and my TV is off
Great, 'cause I save on my electricity cost
And you can wave that piece of shit flag if you dare
But they killed us because we've been killing them for years

Not that it matters for shit, but I've got "Shot down in flames" stuck in my head something awful right now.

If this offends you, I'm sorry but tough shit.

I've never understood why people get so enveloped in music culture. It's a bit like the whole political thing where people (for some obscure reason) go and try to find 'like minds' so they can feel like they are a part of something. Like they are not enough when they are themselves...

Music is music, nothing but taste. I've always prided myself on the fact that I do not get involved in the 'culture' of music, and try to broaden my horizons as far as genre is concerned. My mates are, although often not as diverse, diversified from my own tastes and as such we actually enjoy our music

Rather than simply echoing what a great tune it is banging away and not really focusing on it, or even worse idolising a single genre/song

Music's music, and I like a lot of different stuff, but I don't subscribe to any 'culture' as such - this is what I meant by I don't understand. A suitable analogy would be feeling solitary in a packed 100,000 stadium or some such.
