hey everybody new guy here- i am a anti-capitalist but not a true socialist (i believe there are some flaws in the socialist system but not as much as capitalism) --
i want to know what everybody thinks the future of the revolution is.
--is it dead? i was reading this article:
http://www.prospect-magazine.co.uk/Article...&P_Article=8620 (http://www.prospect-magazine.co.uk/ArticleView.asp?Accessible=yes&P_Article=8620)
in the article it mentioned that there is little support for the new generation of Che Guevaras.
--is the future of the revolution in protest against capitalism that unfortunately achieve very little?
--is it in a violent uprising?
--do we wait for the death capitalism on its own?
--will the revolution succeedhappen only by divine intervention?
--will it happen one person at a time which will take like a million years or will whole countries rise up under a different system that is not capitalism?
--is the revolution in the hands of those who will only drop anti-american slogans around -f*** USA!- which will not achieve very much?

so long as oppressive government exists, so will individuals and/or communities seeking a better solution. and so long as they exist and are willing to protest for worthy cause, the revolution will never die. i'll let the more experienced answer the rest, i'd like to see some other opinions before i attempt to speak for the community. however, i do believe that "divine intervention" has little to do with the revolution. that's the american justification for everything, not ours.

the future of the revolution is in the grassroots movement, for a start, get into an organisation and talk to everyone you know about the stuff you believe in

All societal models decay and change. (Wow that's a big concept for me)....
Well, capitalism is showing its unbleached roots....See Enron, Microstrategy, Microsoft, Exxon Valdez.....more and more pure market freedom folks are saying, hey, what happened to core human values and fair play and doing the right thing?
We have entered a new era of the everage Jane and Joe starting to question the actions of big business in a way that never happenened before. People are coming to the conclusion that no one tells the simple truth anymore and stands up for their transgressions.
This is true of all societies today. We demonize those that punish harshly for stuff we don't condsider serious (Saudi., Taliban, Sri Lanka) but at the same time bemoan the loss of basic virtues.
Anyhow Communism will not emerge in the same form as before. Capitalism will morph into a more humanisatic form, thereby avoiding the clash of cultures that will lead to violence. Nations around the world will respond quicker to international crises to prevent genocide and terror ....except in black Africa which still lacks support form any developed nation.
I think it's our religious freedom more than our political freedom that is under threat.
More predictions: women will continue to wear high heels and lipstick and none of our ideology will change that.

divine intervention?
It will defiantly not happen that way. Peoples views need to change to cause a revolution and the American views ain't going to be changing any time soon.
I believe whole countries will rise up under a different system that is not capitalism. But it will happen in the third world first, where the people are not happy with capitalism and want a better way of life. Then it will spread-hopefully!!!

the reason i said divine intervention is because, i believe Jesus (not trying to bring religeon into this discussion) had anti-capitalist views and would not be part of a capitalist system.
Renegade-- yeah thats true but when you tell someone you are anti-capitalist, they just think of some guy that protest and shouts anti-american slogans.
i know the revolution won't die a total death but take a look at a country like Cuba-- i believe if the embargo is lifted, capitalist views and trash will flood into the country and will poison young minds (the would be future revolutionarys) and slowly without people rising up the against it, capitalism will take over that revolution and after that there is no true revolutionary country that will serve as a model for a better way.
