View Full Version : Greatest Guitarist
Dr. Rosenpenis

In the classic rock forums, there have been a series of polls to determine the favourite guitarists among the members of that forum.
First, each guitarist is paired with one other guitarist and polls are made for each pair to decide which ones will go on to the next round. Half of the original guitarists make into the second round and so on.
This way we can include as many guitarists as we want and we can get a more accurate view of the second, third, fourth place winners and so on.
I assume Hendrix will win by a large margin, but I thought it would still be an interesting experiment fro che-lives.
Anyone agree?
If so, we can start nominating guitarists. As many as we can come up with is okay. I hope the mods don't have any objection to about 15 or so polls at a time.

ah, so a bracket of sorts. hmm...
they should have seeds, as well.
it'll be a fucking mess, and very few people will probably take place, but sure thing.
I nominate Santana, Hendrix, Al Anderson, Eric Clapton, Fripp, Paige, Jeff Beck, B.B. King, Robert Johnson, The Hook (who I, personally, pick for second), Albert King, Duane Allman, Justin Hayward, and that's about it for now I guess
first ass to nominate Kurt Cobain is getting a punch to the NARDS!!!11

huh?
I just figured that if I do what I'm thinking of doing, the results for the second, third and so on greatest guitarists wouldn't be very accurate. For example, if the second greatest is paired with the single greatest, then the second greatest would loose and never make it to the "finals" where he should be beacuse he's the second favourite.
So i don't know what to do about that.
And you're probably right rasta. Few people would participate and to let a good number of people even participate, we'd have to leave each poll open for like 2 weeks.
Somebody else should do it, I'm not sure if I want to.

yes Morello! What a legend.
Hendrix must win at all costs for his avant garde playing. I concur with the rest, can't think of any more.
