He was a shit musician, very untalented, he only knew a few guitar chords and he cant sing.
I am glad that waste of space is dead.
P.S. bbc news says its 10 years not 5.

Who are you talking about? :P
Give credit where it's due. Critics have always said he can't sing. True, he doesn't have a "great" voice...but the voice he has suits his music perfectly. He knows more than "a few" guitar chords. And he was extremely talented. Have you even heard any of their songs?
Perhaps you should watch Nirvana ~ Unplugged

poor kurt, he only had his youth, legions of fans, family and millions of dollars.

exactly. just like bob dylan doesn't have the most soothing voice ever, it suits his music just fine. in fact, i heard a version of "lay lady lay" with his voice computer edited to be more smooth and liquid and it just wasn't the same as a normal dylan voice. leave kurt alone. it couldn't have been easy for him. pain inspires art, remember that.

Kurt Cobain was talented but so are a lot of other people. Who cares if he's dead. Did you know him personally? Was he your dad? Poor Kurt!! Let's not forget that he shot himself and left his daughter without a father. And if he was killed by Courtney Love then the little girls mother killed her father. Poor her!! Not poor them. They were grown ups with their minds intact. They made the decisions that got them where they are now. I feel no pity for them. He was weak. Good riddance.
If his mind was "intact" do you think he would have shot himself?
Don't judge people, because like you said at the top of your post, we didn't know him personally.
Life can be tough, we don't know what he went through. Do you honestly think that killing yourself is an easy decision to come by? I know someone who committed suicide, and others who have seriously thought about it.
Drop that holier than thou attitude.

Kurt Cobain had a child...that's a responsibility. It doesn't matter what goes on in your own life...when you have a child you have to put yourself last. I have had many bad things happen in my life and to those around me. People need to stop playing victims. It's not being holier than thou. It's being a fighter. It's being strong. It's not letting outside forces tell you what you're going to be and not giving up.
It's just that for some it is easier.
Some people can cope with stress or problems better than others. We all have strengths and weaknessess. I can't judge him though.

Idolizing him as some on this forum have is not exactly a solution either.

Kurt was a genius and one of the best musicians ever!
if millions people liked/likes his songs, how can it be crap?
but if he would not killed himself, he probably wouldn't be as "(over) worshiped" as he is now...<_<

There's only so much fighting that any person can do.

Can you imagine where our world would be if everyone had that idea? What if Che had of said "well there's only so much I can do so I'll just go back to Argentina."

Evidently he still believed he could fight. Are you saying that you think people can continue to fight beyond their ability to do so?

I'm saying that we only limit ourselves.
I am tired of talking about Cobain. There are some things that are perhaps too personal to be debated. Maybe suicide is one of them. Unfortunately some of us have had first hand experience of it and it is one of those touchy subjects. This is one of those topics that are going nowhere. <_<

Kurt Cobain is one of the most overrated musicians known to mankind.

Kurt Cobain made music that defined the angst that teenagers feel. That's a really fucking valid contribution to music as a whole. Granted, there have been better guitar players and singers, but they didn't make music that makes millions of teens feel like someone else knows how they feel. R.I.P. Kurt.

he wrote good songs. he was probably the best grunge artist. he did have talent.
it's a shame that talent has been blown out of proportion since his death.

I agree with both of you Digital Nirvana, and Lefty ;) :) It's a pity that some people don't appreciate it :( ... well, it's up to them
