I disagree. Change is ALWAYS possible.
apathy maybe

I also disagree.
Racism is hatred of a group of people based on the mythical concept of 'race'. The idea of 'race' is a artifical one. People are classed as black when they have more European heritage then African and vis-versa. People share over 95% of genetic material.
There will always be discrimination, 'cause there will always be differences. But such things as 'race' (which should really be called colour of skin), should hopfully disapear.
maybe i meant to say discrimination, instead of racism but
"I disagree. Change is ALWAYS possible. "
like the other guy said there will always be differences

what about gender-racism? age-racism? have you heard of these?
even if "race" would disapper, it doesn't mean that racism would disappear too.
"race" ain't the only cause to racism.

Quite the question indeed...everything is in the correct order to be respective to change and paradoxically, continuity….Death,is a definite although.
As for the more "social" tribulations that riddles capitalism at its basis. Its all variable to transform, as man changes as his material conditions changes.
Hence the evils of racial discrimination is not a fixed consistent…rather a product of the material conditions of slavery and capitalism…with the introduction of communism it is very much so feasible that racial prejudice will cease to be, in its form as the present indicates.
like the other guy said there will always be differences
Physical differences yes, mental differences no.

Racism is generally in my persepective caused by the fact that people have to compete with each other for what they need. This competition puts others second to you and when it gets to the point that you are competing with some one from some other kind, then eventually the whole kind is inferior to yours.
Like in the phrase "they steal our jobs" ...or "they suck up our money"....saying they is the gate way to making racial comments. What is just curiosity and fear of the unknown has developed into racism with our competive capitalist lifestyles. Mean while, nobody steals your job. Your boss gives it away. But because of alot of conservative factors i think, alot of us fail to notice the actions of our bosses and instead turn to racism.
Even if youre country is a commune, if there is competition it will become commune vs. commune within time. the idea of some one being secondary to you is what it takes to survive in our world RIGHT NOW.
Capitalism is a breeding ground for racism. Listen closely to the views of racist people, how they justfiy their ideas, especially articualte racists like nazis who will use facts and figures to proove their point.
One day things will change. I know this because they are changing, and one day the real change will be magnificent, but i have a hard time forseeing it with our present system, because even if it is not black vs. white, then it will be nation vs. nation, or company vs. company, continent verusus continent as long as we all want the same thing and have to compete over it as enemies instead of working toghther for it like friends.

Nonentity is ''branded'' upon peoples mentality.

There is no such thing as 'age-racism' or 'gender-racism'. The 'rac' is in the word 'racism' for a reason. The other two are agism and sexism respectively.

Of course there can be an end to racism.
Have you guys not read Materialism, do you not know where much of the foundation of communism lies?
As essentialinsignificance was saying, consciousness is determined by social existence. Or, in other words, the society, enviornment you live in, determines how you think.
If you live in a society where no one person or type of person is valued higher than another (aka communism) then you'll start to think that no type of person is better than any other.
Why do you think no one in the world is pro-slavery? We've all been brought up in a world where slavery is deemed evil and out-dated, so that now we all believe that slavery is wrong. Back in the slavery days, though, everyone thought that slavery was just a natural thing. Why do you think so many people in America think communism is evil? They've been brought up with the Red Scare and all that crap that they believe it.
Times change. If you don't believe that you can't truly accept marxism.

Racism is about 500 years old.
Humanity is about 400,000 years old.
I don't see any reason to assume racism is anything other than transitory.
Things that won't change in any human society:
people will breathe
people will have sex
people will eat
people will have feelings
Hyptothetically, these could change (via evolution or genetic engineering) but then it would cease to be a human society and be a new species.
