Also, Kennedy was born is Massachusetts, and Kerry is from there also (not by birth though)

I think it's a little bit coincidence a little bit circumstance. I would be suprised if it was his similarity to JFK that got him where he is. It is the US you know, they love the nation-building fictional characters. Johnny Appleseed and whatnot :D .

You're the ignorant one if you possibly believe JFK was left-wing. How did JFK possibly stand for left wing ideals? Without looking at anything he did, you only have to look at what party he was a member of. Lefties do not become President in the US.
