I'm considering making a purchase, and if I do, what is the best book to read?

Ive read Stupid White Men

it wasnt bad i suppose, good for facts and information, but his "humour" spoils it
i dunno perhaps you like the american "sense of humour"

He seems to be recognised more for his comedy, rather than the points he is trying to make, which is a great shame.

Dude...Where's my Country would have been pretty good, save the endorsement for the war criminal Wes Clark for president and the condemnation of Mumia Abdul Jamal. He has since capitulated a bit on the Mumia thing, but as far as I'm concerned he fucked himself.

Both books were pretty entertaining if you're a liberal. He is completely on board with the bourgeois duocracy here in the U$ though.

Being a uncivilised person from the UK, I have no idea who Wes Clark is...

Some presidential candidate right...?

Mumia Abdul Jamal

Yeah... I dunno about that one, from a little from what I read, it seams quite likley that he did shoot daniel faulkner. But I haven't done that much research. Could you elaborate for me?

practice thread on Mumia (http://www.che-lives.com/forum/index.php?act=ST&f=7&t=6743)

Hampton has collected together a lot of the information of Mumia's trial in the above thread.

Similar to a number of others hear don’t inconvenience yourself with Michael Moore…although I have read "Stupid white men" and "Dude where's my country"…but there awfully disappointingly written and irreconcilably not humorous.

Moore just wants your money.

i would also advise you to get something better than moore. especially don't buy dude where's my country. its terrible. i could reccomend a book called BLOWBACK, by chalmers johnson. the premise is that the first half of the twenty first century will be spent dealing with the after effects of the cold war. esentially that things have been fucked up and will now boomerang back on those who caused the fuck up (namely the US). if you do get it there is a recent edition with a new foreword that is great. one of my teachers assigned the book and i loved it. its not funny though, more ironic.
