Industrial Synthpop? I only know two of those you mentioned and there is nothing "poppy" about them. I'm talking NIN and KMFDM. Would you include Ministry under this heading too. I always considered them to be industrial but I've heard their early stuff was very different from the later stuff.

well i'd include both rammstein and ministry.

there really should be a dash between industrial and synthpop cause they really are 2 differemt types of music.

i guess i'm wondreing if anyone is into the goth scene (music wise)

Kein Mehrheit Für Die Mitleid
(which loosely translated means: no pity for the majority)
And yes, it is proper German to say "Kein Mitleid Für Die Mehrheit", but the question refers to KMFDM, not proper German.

I don't know if it's industrial synthpop or not, but I really like Assemblage 23, VNV Nation, and Apoptygma Berzerk.

And nearly everything on Projekt.

I’m around Montreal. The goth/industrial scene sucks ass. I highly doubt there is one worthy of the name.

It’s really hard to find that kind of music. I’ve got no money for the CD’s and it takes too much time and patience for me to look for it over the internet.

Do you know Voltaire? The musician? I think you might like it. Kinda "soft goth"…

Am I the only one noticing how Hampton is always coming to the rescue with links?

see i find the foufone electrique in montreal to be a great bar for goth types to hang out (i spent new years eve there).

hell in van we only have 2 nites a week and they are tuesdays and sundays ... other than of course the fetish nite once a month.

and yeah the music can be hard to get a hold of but worth it when you find it.

actually i might be going to monteal in may ... if i do .. i'll dfeinatley be hitting the foufe .. of course i'm also hoping to spend anite at the bovine sex club in Toronto .... now that's agreat bar

I love KMFDM and Rammstein, and I hate NIN. Ministry and Wumpscut are ok... 313C7 iVi4RX should post here, as he listens to much more industrial than I do.

I would probably give KMFDM the strongest plug of any of these bands, especially for this board. They have great political lyrics.

Nickademus,

First of all, you seem to be assuming that I am a goth. I am not. I happen to enjoy some industrial music... that is not the same thing.

I dislike NIN for a pretty simple reason--I think the music sounds awful. Reznor is a terrible vocalist, and the rest of the sounds are no better. I have stronger feelings about NIN because they are fairly popular, and 313C7 iVi4RX plays their crap often when I am with him.

 wait are you saying that by listening to industrial music your a goth, shouldn't it be by listening to gothic music

Nickademus

there was no assumption that you were goth ... i'm simply saying that most the people who i know that listen to any industrial music (and for me that is nothing but goths) all like NIN.

Hell i don't consider myself a goth (although others would) and i listen to the music. so sorry if it seemed like that, but there was no such assumption.

would you consider Orgy industrial synthpop? First time i heard Opticon it reminded me a bit of NIN.

i personally wouldn't consider orgy industrial /syth-pop ... but that's personally just me. its really a hard category to define (as are many musical categories). but chances are if it sounds similar to NIN and comes from germany .. its probably industrial ... that scene isHUGE in germany ... along withthe death metal scene.
