the symbionese liberation army has been in the news lately and has sparked my interest in radical terrorist groups in america in the 70's. the only one's i know of are the sla and the weathermen, and i think i know enough about them. if anyone knows of any other groups like these, or any good web resources, please let me know.

The SLA are the wackos who kidnapped Patty Hearst.

The Weathermen evolved from former SDS'ers once the organization broke up. They blew shit up. They went around saying that hundreds of people would join them, but hardly anyone ever did. They also claimed that everything wrong in the world was that way because of white racism (they were mostly white kids from middle class families, I think they were feeling "white guilt" ) and said that they were doing everything they did in the name of the Black Panthers, only the Panthers denounced it. They were a bunch of losers who ended up embarassing themselves. However, they took their name from my favorite Bob Dylan song.

I don't think there's much information on either of them on the web, but Paul Krassner wrote an essay on the brainwashing of Patty Hearst for disinformation.com as I recall.

I can never look at the Royal Air Force in the same light.
