Miuccia Prada, the woman who stands behind the billion dollar Prada corporation registered as a member of the Communist party during her youth. I find this interesting because she's all about fashion. I would have loved to see Che rip into her if they were ever together talking politics and communism...

She probley thought it was trendy or womething, i find lots of people who think ur cool if your active, but they never know what they're talking about
Another example of MTVs campaign to its hands on the minds of the left and drag them into its viewing pool.

Ah... I'm gonna get beat for this. lol Prada does make nice clothing, but I have to agree, I tend to doubt famous people's political views.

I'm down with famous people making their political voices heard, i.e. Michael Moore or Alec Baldwin or whatever. The more exposure, the more dissent, the better. And Prada makes snazzy clothes. I actually found a prada suit and sweater at the local goodwill for $100. In my size. So I got it and now I can look like a bourgousie pig. But damn that suit is snazzy.

The fact that I can't afford some Prada makes me all warm and fuzzy inside.
Back in the days, it was "common" for the Italian youth to lean towards the left because of Italy's political history from the end of the war. During hard times, people look for other options.

she's a celebrity. she has money and access to people - and if she still has a small blip of red in her blood, she could one day become a valuble asset.

I'm sure she is still somewhat still true to her beliefs. Her high class and fashionable milieu puts me off though.

Prada exploit immigrants workers in London. Not really a communist idea unless its all a plot to make money to fund the revolution.

Of course it is. Duh!
I read a really good article about her in the New Yorker or the Economist or something like that, she's really cool, totally not the way you would nessessarily think.
And Che was into fashion, look at his cute beret and star, he had guerrilla chic!
