The Death of Che Guevara (http://www.che-lives.com/forum/index.php?act=ST&f=3&t=1227)

You have maybe already found it, 'cause it's a sticky right here in the Ernesto "Che" Guevara forum.

I've heard something along those lines too. How Fidel and America were secretly working against Che....it's pure bullshit. Castro would never to that to his angel of the revolution.

i agree with you, and if i may add, i like your description of che as an angel of the revolution

anywayz, some people think castro was kinda selfish and greedy for fame, so he wanted che dead because then he'd be the one and only...

fidel could not of killed che, Fidel and che were great friends, he could not of ordered the bolivians to kill che due to that they were enemies and if fidels men would of attacked them it would of broken diplomatic stances

Oddly, when I told my dad the story of Che's death, the first thing he said was "maybe Castro did it." I couldn't believe he said that, but it raises conspiracy theories.

um ok i have to say something about the reference to che as the angel of the revolution. now i may catch a lot of slack for this (puts up shields) but he was no angel. i agree with many of his ideologies and practices, and in many ways i admire the man. However, he did excute many many people without trial. and that i have to disagree with. i just had to get my 2 cents in there.

I don't think they meant he had all the characteristics on an angel, just that he was the source of light for the revolution and made it all possible. There aren't many people who could actually be as pure as an angel, especially revolutionaries.

These people forgot that Fidel is a intelligent man and would realise making che dead would be making him a loved matry. So there goes that theory.

all that is true, but The Red Factor got the point.

i don't believe fidel is guilty, but quite a few people whos opinion i really respect think castro had something to do with che's death and he wasn't totally inocent. besides this, there were also some facts which might indicate fidel's guilt, but still... fidel and che were really excellent friends and comrades... don't know

I also think there's a problem when Che is regarded as an angel or saint.

Because that makes his example unattainable. The slogan of the Cuban Pioneers is "we will be like Che" and in my opinion that's exactly right. Everyone can try to be like Che, because he was a human being, not an angel or saint.

The full impact of his ideas also tends to get lost if he's turned into an icon.

Maybe we need a thread on this.

I'm going to post in the sticky thread about the recurring rumor about Castro...and why it's nonsense.
