I am going book shopping tomorrow, and I plan on buying two books related to Che. John Anderson's biography is one, and I cannot decide on the other. I have it narrowed down to Motorcycle Diaries, or Guerrilla Warfare. Which of these two would you recommend for a Che begginer? I know Guevara has many books, some written by him, some speeches and poems, but I plan on waiting to buy the other books (Congo book, speeches books, etc) Thanks in advance.

Motorcycle Diaries, definitely. I liked it a lot more than Guerilla Warfare, simply because it wasn't so damn serious all of the time.

Summary of Motorcycle Diaries: Che drives around S. America on a motorcycle and engages in hijinx while making observations about the poor and helping out where he can. Interesting because you can see the beginnings of his revolutionary views.

Summary of Guerrilla Warfare: I hate capitalism. I highly recommend killing capitalists. I am revolutionary leader, hear me roar!

Guerilla Warfare is worth reading, but not owning unless you are a pretty diehard Che fan. The Motorcycle Diaries is one of my favorite books. Good call on the Anderson Biography, though- it's the best biography of Che that I've yet read.

The guy at the store knew of the books, but they didn't have them in stock. So for no extra charge, he ordered them and I pick them up in a week. Can't wait!

Lol, maybe that was a little oversimplified.
