"Maybe it's not the job of the world to hand out free money to those people in the world who aren't willing to work and earn it themselves. You can't just give money to poor people and expect them to have a clue what to do with it."
The statement is based in a very narrow perspective of how soceity is now and what it should be like in the future.
It is hard to debate the statement as it is. What context is it being said? Simply handing out money isn't the answer and people don't want to work for a reason. Another question that could be raised is, does every single poor person want to be rich. I think a lot of people, although they see being rich as the answers to their pray it is also something completely unreal to them. What is real is having enough money to pay the rent, buy food, put decent clothes on their children, be able to live comfortable without having to worry about where the next meal is coming from etc etc.
If you ask the question "Is greed good?" then no. Society is based on this very principle and look at the world now. Greed is legalized and institutionalized. We are all allowed to be greedy, people believe that it is the nature of society. The individual has the power to gain as much wealth as they want, through any means necessary. Although as you get richer the means to be greedy get more diverse, the concept never changes and the rich are never challanged. Greed creates war, famine, lack of drugs, lack of education. Greed is capitalism!
