Alright. I'm almost done with high school and I'm applying to schools. I'll most likely begining studying to become an engineer. I'm going in undecided of course and will have some time to think of what field of engineering I'd like to go into. As of right now I'm most interested in Civil engineering but some of the other fields interest me aswell, my second choice would be Mechanical Engineering. I also know that Chemical engineers will be high paid, so I'm considering that aswell. Anyway, which field of engineering do you guys think is best from those posted below. Also, are any of you majoring in engineering.

Fields for me to choose from:
Biomedical Engineer
Chemical Engineer
Civil Engineer
Computer Engineer
Electrical Engineer
Environmental Engineer
Geoscience Engineer
Industrial Engineer
Mechanical Engineer

Take my advice.

Pick a new field of work. Engineering is no fun.

Engineering doesn't seem so bad to me. However, some fields of engineering, such as Computer and Electrical, I'd never get into. Civil engineering does interest me though.

However, some fields of engineering, such as Computer

haha.

There you go. Do not go into computer engineering unless you lead a very analytical and boring life.

Why are you asking US this question of all people? Why not ask your cappie friends who you admire so much? Surely to you, they are a more intelligent group of people then us!

Oh! C'mon! The majority of you are cool. Slightly insane and not able to comprehend logic but cool.

:P

Biomedical Engineer

Do you enjoy handling organs/corpses?

Chemical Engineer

Do you enjoy getting burnt and corroded by caustic substances?

Civil Engineer

Do you enjoy being bossed around by the suits?

Computer Engineer

Do you LIKE spreadsheets? Are you joking?

Electrical Engineer

Shocking!

Environmental Engineer

You stand around mud all day...

Geoscience Engineer

Similar to above, but you get rocks dropped on you as well

Industrial Engineer

The most promising, but the most exciting thing you'll prob. end up building is a warehouse.

Mechanical Engineer

Like getting your hands caught in machinery eh?

I hope this brief overview helps you to decide.
Choose wisely :)

haha!

No, he's not anal-lytical enough. Everything must be taken into perspective, with no sense of humor.

He'd make a good civil engineer. Hey, he already likes following something whilst wearing a blindfold; capitalism.

If you are really going to be an engineer, then why not get on the admins and see if they can lighten up on your restriction and let you post in science and environment? Then you in your infinate wisdom can enlighten us on all matters pertaining to science? Politics aside, I'm sure you could be useful there.

What an engineer does:

1- :o 2- 3- 4- 5-

In that order.

In my opinion, your best bet for becoming super-bourgeois lies in Industrial Engineering.

Invent something ultra-useful, patent it, sell it off for a lot of money.

It's much less of a certain, secure income than the others, but the risk could pay off.

If I was a capitalist I'd do nothing more than invest in property and do no actual work.
You know, buy and rent property?
Maybe gamble on the stock market a little.

I meant out of the options he listed.

It's amazing how the people that say they want to "contribute to society" are the ones that attack people who actually do.
I was actually trying to give you real advice.
