someone already did this, but I still think it's funny:
he was this guy :che: who helped this guy :castro: and they made this :cuba:
yeah, some research via google would be best, and if you want to read some good books, Che's Motorcycle Diaries is good and so is the biography by John Anderson (though it's a huge book)
remember to read around, since stuff on google can be biased

Yeah, to know more about Che and communism, search in Google. Or read the books that have been mentioned. In layman terms Che is a great revolutionary who (Che, sorry for plagiarizing) who trembled indignation at every injustice in the world but sadly, he was killed by smoe stupid right-winger pigs because they were too afraid that he might rule the world and they would all be banished to the ends of the earth. Well, that is my own version of the story.
By the way, welcome!

Long story short
Che was a argentinian doctor who was called up to war. Later went to cuba and met Raul and Fidel Castro. He became Castros second hand man during the Cuban Revolution in 1959. In 1966 he went to bolivia with his guirilleas for secret operations. He was caught in Del Yuro gorge where he was shot and tooken hostage. He was brought to a school house where he was executed by Firing Squad. He was buried by a landing strip and in 1995 we decided to look for his body. So in 1997 he was found and Cuba held a ceremony in Santa Clara

I live in a small town in the south. So when I wear my Che Tee I expect people to ask who it is.
My valentine date and I were having dinner in a quaint Italiano restaurant when this older woman at the next table reached over and asked, "Is that Che GUeveraa on your shirt?" My reply was one of excitement," YES"! Then her dining partner, an older man, said, "Ah....... Che Guevarra, the rebels, rebel!" I'll never forget that.
Che was a true revolutionary, a freedom fighter to the oppressed world wide. He wasnt afraid to get his hands dirty for the cause, He was and still is the rebels rebel!

I normally make it a point to not even talk to people this ignorant but as you seem sincere I might as well recommend the book Guevara, Also Known as Che and Che’s own book Guerilla Warfare. Of course you could just read one of the bios on this website.

Che did not go to war before the Cuban invasion. He met Fidel Castro in Mexico and joined his July 26 movement which sailed to Cuba on a ship called the Granma. He did not automatically enter a high position during the war. At first he was a doctor then began to act more like a regular soldier, he was later promoted to major.
He was not executed by a firing squad, only one person shot him. He was tied to a board and shot in the heart.
It disturbs me that I even had to point out those things. Why is that people can so shamelessly give false information?

Thats what makes this story so great. Their response was positive My point was that they even KNEW who he was. Their admiration was obvious, it blew me away. Sometimes that happens you know....
;)
And for the record, I would never purchase Che merch, unless it is to further the cause, like buying from this site, my shirt was a gift.

sorry, people usually use the term firing squad when someone is shot to death. Thats what all the bios i have read. And yes i know about that date. They drew straws to see who would get to shoot him. A man by the name of Terán shot him with M2 Carbine and killed him.
As for the other stuff i messed up. Sorry but mistakes do happen
enough with the complaints.
This is a learning center not a crtisism center

o a follow up, Teran was afraid and ran outta the room. He was ordered back. Shot him once. And then other soldiers wanting to shoot che joined in. So it was like a firing squad

Thats interesting, what's your source? I'd like to read about that.
I remember seeing the "El Che," documentary where the one who shot him said they had to draw sticks or straws or something to see who would have the burdun of shooting Che and then being remembered for it.

went to cuba and met Raul and Fidel Castro.
Went to Mexico after being through the U.S. attack on Guatemala's Communist government with Arbenz.
Most important read the works and speeches of Che Guevara, many of which can be accessed through links off this website.
Better off going to a library and looking up books than google, even ones that have other views, such as by Cuban expatriots, actually read a good account by one of the of how banking changed, under Che. By the ex-Cuban was missing Cuba, Che and Fidel, mad about U.S. treatment of Cubans in Bay of Pigs, etc. the whole thing of how the revolution affected people was so deep and poignant, it's important to read both sides to make educated decisions as to how life really did improve for the average Cuban, EDUCATION.
Carlos Franqui "Diary of a Cuban Revolutionary" is interesting, Granma newspapers can be accessed often in English at some universities.
What Che meant to Cuba is amazing. When one compares life in Cuba versus other Caribbean nations or Mexico, or here there is no comparison. Yes there is poverty in Cuba, but everyone works together for the betterment of society. It is much less a society of haves and have nots, look at the homeless in the street and how people walk past unaffected, that isn't happening there, but they do have their problems. Che really created the image of the individual who works for the betterment of society and does volunteer labor on top of his other job to create this.
Overall Che came to the point in his evolution that according to Gardner and his new IQ test of moral conventions few do, he decided his life and likes and dislikes were unimportant to the needs of other, and sacrificed his life to help others. As a result his image and words have lived on as the spirit of Revolution for oppressed people all over the world. Just a thought

I've read the book 'Che guevara' of Jean Cormier(also big book(500p.)).
There they said that the Teran guy missed his first shot and then he shot Che dead.
Later Killed himself by jumping of a building...

Sorry to be a sticklier but I work with people with exceptionalities ie. disabilities, and it is highly insulting to that culture when people use the medical term "retarded" or "retard" as an insult to themselves or others. As our consciousness of other cultures expands do not forget those with exceptionalities who live among you every day.
Please refrain from this, it's highly insulting, some of my friends will attack someone for saying this word in their presence in such a way and are not the sort to reason about it --Sincerely Pandora

Well as far as i know it was in his fairwell speach to cuba, but i presume he said it at a meeting, speech or etc. becasue the intro to this site has him saying it in a big speech where everyone is ranting and raving. But it couldnt of been his fairwell speach cause Fidel Castro read that.
