Does nothing to me.
Fear and Loathing was a superb movie. Hand in hand with the book.
Does this mean I'm not going to watch it for having Marxist beliefs?
Do not count on it.

Since you ask querida..
It's stars man of the moment Johhny Depp and my own personal favourite Benny del Torro, with cameo's from Hunter himself and Cameron Diaz among others.. The book is of course far superior, I'm thinking a woman of your mind should start there..
It's a crude and twisted journey into the foul, rotting heart of the American dream.. written in 67? by some hack named "Duke" - Raoul Duke, a truly vile creature..
Exotic narcotics are ingested by "Duke" and his monstorous attorney at a frightening rate and all levels of hell let loose on the good denzians of Las Vegas Nevada.. Essentialy it is a gross and decadent example of a supposed school of journalism pioneered by "Duke" and his wicked ilk known as "Gonzo"..
I'd recommed burning any copies that you might find for fear that it's contents may warp your beautiful mind forever...
As for being incompatable with Communism, I don't see how since it dissects the very values of a free market society with a scalpel and tosses it's gizzards out the window of a speeding hire car.. As Hunter says himself "I'm not an agrarian Stalinist diletantte, I'm just a beleiver" Or something like that...

I am going to introduce to you, a radical new concept. Be careful now, it may just change your life.
LEARN TO THINK FOR YOURSELF.
Seriously man, you don't have to live your life by what other "Communists" do, or what they will think of you. I know it sounds cliche, but be yourself. If people don't think what you are into is acceptable, so what ? Who cares ? Look at what it is and think about it, if you find it acceptable then who really cares what other people think ?

I certainly enjoyed Fear and Loathing, as well as everything else HST has written. If you haven't read it already, I recommend that you read "The Great Shark Hunt," a collection of his writings.
Also, what Urban Rubble said. Jesus Christ, this isn't "Fight Club." You aren't a fricking insect. Think for yourself.
EDIT: Atlanticche, that is possibly the coolest avatar I've ever seen. Props.

Did you change your name lefty ? I don't think I've ever talked to you, but you have so many posts I don't see how that's possible.

I took a break of about six months. I left when you had like 50 posts. It seems like we talked once or twice. You seemed like a relatively chill fellow. If I recall correctly, you live in the northwest, (Seattle maybe?) skateboard, listen to punk rock, have the same political views as I do, and smoked weed. So we are quite alike. However, I live in Iowa and attempt to skateboard every once in a while. However, I usually fare quite poorly, due to the fact that I'm usually quite blazed when I try.

Yep, that's me. That's quite the memory you've got there.

Once I learned to skate, being stoned actually helped me learn things. It gives me concentration.

I guess. I've heard that skating on low doses of shrooms helps a lot too- "clarifies" things and makes you uber-concentrated. Wouldn't know, though.
