On the "Guns won't stop the government!" argument

What are your favourite arguments against the narrative? I personally cite that asymmetric warfare and a motivated working class could overcome any military.

There’s a meme that answers this question with: “Vietnam.” That made me chortle.

But I don’t know, guns don’t do much of anything other than propel bullets through the air.

I guess I agree with the US NRA in a sense, guns don’t revolt, people do.
