I considered that they don't represent the entire army. There are much worse out there.
I remember an interview with one Air Force soldier who compared bombing Afghanistan to winning the superbowl. There was also footage (from Iraq) posted some time ago of a soldier shooting at a wounded man and killing him, which was met by cheers from the glorious representitives of corperate America's oil interests. That a soldier discussed the "awesome feeling of killing someone".

As this action by these imperialist forces is obviously unjustifiable, I am curious as to what the right wingers would consider to be an apt punishment for these soldiers? Should they be punished?

This is natural. Of course they are bullies. They're "winning the war"! Iraq has been liberated! Saddam captured, the masses vindicated! They have tanks and guns! "God" is on their side. Their leader makes speeches on TV in many countries, live, affirming that God wants them to win, God said they'll win.

So they see some guys stole wood (wood!) and tied it to the roof of their car. An American soldier says "we try to stop them from looting, they don't understand, so we take their car, and we crush it".
He shrugs and smirks and says proudly "United States Army".

An humans in the audience cring in disgust as we see the wood falling off the roof of the car as it is driven over by the massive tank.

Laughter is heard as we see the same GI again, posing for the camera. "That's what you get when you loot".

If we are to believe the soldier's inital claim that "(the Iraqis) don't understand" not to loot, we must surmise the victim isn't told why his car is crushed.

The GIs don't give a shit. They can do what they want because nothing happens to them. They're "our boys" now.

The reason these men are committing these acts is that they are soldiers. Being a prick is pretty much in the job description. Not all soldiers are pricks, but the ones who aren't are really bad at their jobs and I think any good capitalist would fire them immediatly.
