I noticed a thread was locked shortly after I mentioned the case of a former moderator ("phoenix ash")on these forums who inadvertently admitted to be being a racist(and, disturbingly, expressing toleration at the posting of child abuse fantasies).

What was quite telling about this particular incident is that he wasn't banned (or even reprimanded) after revealing himself to be a racist and departed the forum of his own volition.

Now, most users on these forums come from imperialist countries (myself included, incidentally) therefore I'm inclined to believe that the obvious lack of vigilance on the matter of racism is a reflection of of the deep-seated chauvinist tendencies that exist within the indigenous populations of western imperialist countries.

This phenomenon appears to be especially pronounced amongst the non-Leninist left, who have a fetishism for attacking anti-imperialist liberation struggles in the periphery. On this last point "phoenix ash" did identify himself as an anarchist.

What do you think the concrete immediate steps are for building revolutionary movements against racism in the US?
