General Strike in the USA, make it happen

I really don't think I need to lecture anyone here on just how messed up things are right now. Even the barest threads of human decency are being stripped from the body politic, leaving only naked capitalist exploitation

It seems like the villains have all the power. They have the ecnomic power, the political power and the power to fire us. What can a worker do?

A worker can sit down.

A worker can disrupt.

A worker can remind the bosses that it is ONLY through labor that they make any profit.

Get it trending, comrades. I know some of you must be on Twitter. Make it a thing.

In these dreadful times, if we can't even make a one day strike happen, then maybe we should just give up.

SHUT.

IT.

DOWN.

Remind them that we exist. Remind them that we are human beings. Remind them that we've got the numbers.

Just a one day action. A day without any McDonalds or Burger Kings or Wendys open. A day with no gas stations open. No grocery stores. No walmarts or Targets. No place that exploits and degrades and devours.

One day when we STAND UP by sitting down.

We can do this. We very much need to do this.

[Decolonize The Left]

I feel where you're coming from, but I don't see this happening. The material conditions of the working class have changed so dramatically from when general strikes were employed that it is highly unlikely that we will achieve critical mass enough to create anything akin to a general strike. Conditions for the working class are so drastic and scabs so accessible that few will give up what they have; and for what? What, exactly, would a general strike demonstrate? Rather, what are our demands?

The following is from The Invisible Committee's most recent publication Now:
"Nowadays there is no more unity in "society" than there is in science. The wage-work system is breaking up into niches, exceptions, dispensatory conditions. The idea of a "precariat" conveniently hides the fact that there is simply no longer a shared experience of work, even precarious work. With the consequence that there can no longer be a shared experience of its stoppage either, and the old myth of the general strike must be put on the shelf of useless accessories."
