Anyone read that article or any of the rebuttals? Is it just a fuck-up - is The NY Times really that dumb?

In the same week they used an obituary to slam “manufacturing consent” - so the media is ruthless if you critique (correctly) the media as a mouthpiece for the pentagon, but if you think the media is a plot by Jews, they give you a sympathetic soft-focus lifestyle profile. Lol, what a horrifically absurd world we live in.

Essentially I feel the NYTimes just missed the mark completely, ignored the salient points and failed to engage in some actual journalism by asking some hard questions, in an attempt to sort of reflect a Hannah Arendt 'banality of evil' sort of thing. Overall, it's just a liberal newspaper that can't quite respond in any sort of decent manner to the rise of fascism.
