Dear all

I am trying to field opinions from a range of people alive in 1977, from different parts of the world/occupations/political ideologies and allegiances. The answers are only for a personal design project and will not be used for any personal/commercial/political gain.

I would like to know your thoughts on life at the time. How did it feel to live during that time? How did the political climate feel for you personally? and what events stick out in your mind from that year?

Please share your experiences, I would be very grateful to hear from you all.

I thought 1977 felt kind of *intriguing* -- the world seemed rather *big*, from the perspective of the neighborhood block I was on.

I had *zero* concept of the 'political climate' at that time.

I recall being invited-in by a woman neighbor down-the-block, for a glass of orange juice one morning when I was wandering around on the block's sidewalk. I remember finding a bootleg drawn-decorated cassette tape of 'Grease' on the sidewalk at that time, and had little concept of what to do with it. (Maybe it was 1978, then.)

(I was 5 or 6 years old at the time.)

1977 was the first year the parade drummer boys on Red Square blew trumpets, too.

Also the year that Israel broke from its consecutive chain of Labor governments since its establishment and got Begin the Likudnik. The UK soon followed, in 1979 with Thatcher, and the US in 1980 with Reagan.

Those were the fruits of the internal contradictions of the post-WWII global financial system, unleashing crisis and ending the decades-long post-war boom.
