it seems like every band that existed after them was influenced by or inspired or impacted by the music of the band led zepllin. i have yet to find a band that was not. even rap and r&b was influenced by them.

if you know any bands/groups that were not influenced by led zepllin let me know cause so far led zepllin is the role model for the music industry.

are you talking about bands out now or any band cause im fairly sure i might have to check my facts but i dont think hendrix was influenced by them, also i dont think much of the grunge scene was really influenced by them, but yeah it seems everybody at the moment was, oh...ern..........Iron Maiden?....maybe

I don't think the Red Hot Chili Peppers were influenced by them. (Maybe guitarist John Frusciante was a bit).

The Beatles.....

He means bands that came afterwards... obviosuly.
So Jimi Hendrix and the Beatles don't count.
Zeppelin was formed during Jimi's carreer.
If anything, Zepp was influenced by Hendrix.

But I agree that all rock that came after Zepp had some influence from them.
Grunge most certainly did.
And I'm sure that if you're a member of a rock band you've all been influenced by a band that has been influenced by Zepp.

Zeppelin was one of the first bands to make it all heavier and do it good. The melody no longer rested so much on vocals but more on the guitar and the drums were far more prominent.

This can go either way, no doubt they inspired some good music. No doubt they also inspired countless cheesy hair metal bands back in the 80s too.

As for inspiring, impacting etc, I would have to mention the Clash. Think of one good post Clash band that wasn't inspired by them. I can't think of any. And not just punk bands either.

We could do the same thing with Robert Johnson (who apparently wasn't as influencial as what we thought), B.B. King, Ma Rainey, James Brown, and scores of other folks.

I fail to see the point, but Zeppelin rocks regardless

I know someone more influential on music than Led Zeppelin......Jesus!!!
Whoa now, don't think "oh God, another Christian Retard", just read

Jesus-inspired christianity

Christianity-spawned Old World Christian Music

Old World Christian Music- spawned southern gospel singing (spirituals)

rich southerners owned slaves

slaves becamed christians and sang the spirituals, but with more emphasis on rythem

slaves are free-freedmen sharecrop and play the blues
(Robert Johnson, Son House, Ma Rainey, Charlie Patton, Leadbelly, Blind Lemon, Canned Heat, Lonnie Johnson...later on howling wolf, big bill broonzy, blah blah blah)

the blues have the same rythems and similar themes as spirituals

blues spawns r&b

r&b spawns rock and roll

the rest is history
so all these deathcore, 666, i have everything rockstars can trace their music back to some poor Jew

you were influenced but you dont want to be like any other band you just want to have your own,

Grunge most certainly did.
i fail to see a connection between grunge and led zep
also bands say they have been influenced by led zep cause they're a rock band and almost the spokesperson for a lot of genres lumped into one, most of these people from genres like pop and r&b havent really listened to led zep it just eases the answer to the question its just easier to say yo were influenced by them, i see no connection between led zep and most bands, led zep in many cases can influence people to play but there are hundreds of bands out there who can do that, but not in there music there very few in comparison to the number of bands out there actually sound like led zep in many ways,

And I'm sure that if you're a member of a rock band you've all been influenced by a band that has been influenced by Zepp.
by the sounds of this you seem to think that the only bands around back then were either led zep or hendrix cause as it sounds led zep were influenced by hendrix and led zep influenced everyone else even if they haven't listend to led zep or even if they dont sound like led zep at all

Zeppelin was one of the first bands to make it all heavier and do it good.
they were not heavy what are you on drugs or somethin'
name one heavy song by them

That's impossible. What kind of music do you play?

Soundgarden (the best grunge band) were influenced by Zeppelin.

You're in a band, but you don't play an instrument or sing?

And all music was inspired by something or another?
Certainly you don't think that you thought of music totally on your own?

And Zepp is plenty heavy, I have no idea what you're talking about.
What the hell have you been listening to?

I agree that there are many other blues artists who influence rock and roll in general much much more than Zepp, but Zepp was so innovative that most of the stuff that came afterward was so different from the stuff that came before. In such a way that rock more closely resembled Zepp's style.
Grunge involves guitar parts very different from Zepp's type, but the very prominent drumming, for example, was very much not seen untill Zepplin.

Like you said, everyone is influenced by someone, and I think that modern rock is highly influenced by Zepplin's style. In some way or another.

Led Zeppelin was heavier, had less emphasis on melody at times, than previous musicians, had more prominent drum parts, relied more heavily on guitar while making it loud, melodic, and heavy at the same time.

If you listen to the music coming out of places like Mali, you'll find that African rhythms and the way that people in West African Yoruban deal with their music has had a much larger influence on Blues (and, therefore, modern music in general).
When Christianity was forced on the slaves, they adopted a message of hope within their songs, and spirituals came about. This was important in the creation of Blues, but not as important as you'd think. A lot of Christianity's influences in music came about later when Gospel singers (Mavis Staples, honey!)began to influence R&B and Proto-Country.

Canned Heat
While they are seeping with the ass-kicking, they came much later than what you were thinking. They were one of those 60's Blues-Rock white groups that I so adore.

The lead singer of Canned heat sounds like Kermit the Frog. Particularily on the song which begins "I'm going up the country".

I can't bother to argue about Led Zeppelin's influence on music. I just said that there's a connection between grunge and Led Zeppelin. That would not have proved you right at all.

well not having an argument against a half arsed arguement,
i think you see whos gonna win,
and the best grunge band was not soundgarden, as good as they are, but it is alice in chains if you can call either of them grunge bands
i do love everyband from the "grunge movement", but i do not see one there is little similarity between any of the "grunge" bands, so it cannot really be said that there is a grunge movement or genre or whatever, it was a kinda seen of artists who didnt really care and pretty much all music out of the early 90s, ive even heard NIN being summed up as grunge a couple of times
