Will the upsurge in world-wide anti-American feelings spill over into the Athens Olympics? I read that in the men's scoccer game where Mexico defeated the US and its chances of going to this year's Olympics, the audience continuously taunted the American players with shouts of "Osama! Osama! Osama!".

I'm thinking: Mexicans are pretty cool.

i hope so. i think the greeks loathe the americans. they even burnt american flags during a minute's silence for september 11 2001, during a football match.

I have no problems what-so-ever with anti-American protests, however I think it should be remembered that the Olympics are supposed to be built on friendly competition outside the political arena.

Remember that not every American represents Bu$h and his cronies, there are some Americans out there (some of them here) that can see the faults in their nation.

So long as violence is avoided, then protests are fine.

Osama Osama Osama? That pisses me off. It's incredibly insensitive and very immature. Civilized people shouldn't taunt others about atrocities that happened to them.

This is a little off topic, but I have heard that the US baseball team did not qualify for the olympics and the olympic comitee is afraid that baseball's ratings won't be very good for these games and they might drop the sport for the next summer games unless the MLB allows proffessional players to compete.
