After whatchin a program called Stalin:Man of steel i have com to these conclusions

1)Stalin is a insecure man who shamed communism

2)He was selfish because his son was captured during WW2 by the Nazis then after the seige on stalingrad stalin captured a high ranking german official(forgot name) wen the germans wanted him back they offered his son as a trade stalin supposedly thought about it and sed no to his own son!!(the son later died in a concentration camp)

3)stalin killed countless generals becaues he thought they would over throw him

4) stalin did not even care about his mother when he was a child his mom sent him to become a priest stalin didnt want too so after that stalin hated his mom and for the next forty years(i think) he wouldve only visited his mother once and wen she died he didnt even goto the funerral all he did was send a STUPID REEF!!!

wen it was getting close to the ned of ww2 stalin the "Man of Steel" relized that he was made of no steel and left the war to his generals

1) Based on what, and how?

2) You're saying that Stalin was selfish for not making military decisions based on personal nepotism? I'd say he would be selfish if he put himself and his family above the Soviet Union. He couldn't trade a general who could enflict havoc on the CCCP for a junior officer just because that junior officer was his son, that would be selfish.

3) Of all of the reasons to kill generals, preventing a military coup de'tat strikes me as one of the more justifiable ones.

4) Stalin was bad because he couldn't relate to his religious fanatic mother? Which family members he was willing to speak to was his own buisness and not matters of politics.

Viva_CHE_Siempre,

I'd agree with TragicClown, that was a correct decision to make. Being family, does not make anyone else more important.

Boo Hoo, he didn't like his family. What the fuck has that got to do with anything?

And I'm an anti-Stalinist.

3)stalin killed countless generals becaues he thought they would over throw him

I'd have to agree with TragicClown to some extent. If the existance of the Soviet Union was in risk by a proposed coup by generals, their execution would be greatly justified. This is from a general view point, not about Stalin or any general in specific.

He had a pretty rough life growing up with a very abusive farther that may factor into his desensitised attitude and overall ruthelessness.

The most recent documentary i saw of him seemed very bias, they compared him to Hitler alot and tried to make him seem worse than Hitler because he had killed so many people. I disagree with their comparison because Hitler was trying to commit genocide, a huge racist overall. Stalin was not this.

You saw this on the history channel huh. I watched it too. Last week in world history we watched a video about hitler and stalin and how there wasn't much of a diff. and stuff. There was a detail about the death of stalin's wife that I caught which was conflicting to what they said about her in man of steel. In the video they played in class it said that she commited suicide, but in Man of steel they said she was murdered. (i'm talkin bout the second wife). Can somone clariffy this please. It's buggin the hell out of me.

I know, i can't believe how much crap they have on him "Hitlers Dog", "The Women of Hitler" and "The Adventures of Hitlers shoe" j/k. The history channel has to drop it, im sick of only seeing a good doco thats not about Hitler once every few weeks. One day maybe they will realise that everyone is over it.

Why comrade? If someone wants to base an opinion of a former enemy of "freedom and the yanqui way of life" by watching a programme based in the country that initiated the propaganda designed to make even unborn children pop out of the womb cursing those evil red bastards then they deserve to remain ignorant.
