If your into folkish stuff then there is vast amount of material out there: Woody Guthrie, Bob Dylan, Pete Seeger, Utah Phillips, Joan Baez, Judy Collins, Hazel Dickens for starters

Try "1913 Massacre" by Woody Guthrie, "Union Burying Ground" by Guthrie, "Mannington Mine Disaster" by Dickens, and "Bread and Roses" by Collins if you want to sample it, it's some preety moving stuff.

There are tons of anarcho-punk bands who are mostly just posers...watch the movie SLC Punk to find out about that scene.

Another band worth checking out are -

Negu Gorriak

Who are from the Basque Country. They did a great version of the Redskins "Unionize" on one of their albums. I gave a copy to the Redskins bassist Martin Hewes and he said it's one of the best Redskins covers he's ever heard.

Might I humbly suggest any of the bands on Insurgence Records

http://www.insurgence.net

Lots of MP3s, some video, merchandise, tourdates and more...

Home to great left-wing and anti-fascist outfits like The Stage Bottles, Brigada Flores Magon, Angelic Upstarts, The Class Assassins and Fighting Chance.

Got a brand new, totally revamped website coming in April.

Look for a new Fighting Chance 7" and CD out in April as well. Really great anti-fascist punk/oi. Check out the MP3 for Cowards Pride.

And check out the MP3 for The Class Assassins tune No Justice No Peace - great catchy streetpunk with great lyrics/sentiments.

Cheers!

I also say SOAD, and I have never heard of Blind Pigs. But, I would not add Papa Roach and Korn to any leftist band list.
