That would make sense.
Because the if you observe the characters...

What looks like an "A" is actualy pronounced as an "L", apparently.

It's the Cyrillic alphabet which is similar to Greek letters. The upside down-A you mention is really an upside-down V, and is the same letter as the Greek lambda, which is their version of the Roman letter L.

It is indeed. There are 2 variations of the letter aswell, the other one is similar to an an "n" but with a little curl on the left leg. An 'n' without the curl is a P.

Original Postcard from artist's first edition printing in New York, early 1980's. Based on an original design by Alexander Kosolapov,a Russian emigre/artist now living & actively showing in NYC. This artwork resulted in a lawsuit by the Coca-cola company against the artist & was successfully won by Kosolapov on the argument that the Coca-cola Logo is so familiar in the public domain, therefore an artist has the right to use it for his/her creative purposes.
