The declining western populations are a direct result of capitalism.Marx summarizing nSmith, points out that by looking at labour as a commodidty capitalism only provides enough for workers to sustain themselves never improving their situation.

In the Western first world people have fewer children in order to provide more for one or for themselves. So rather than everyone having a job and advances in technology giving us fewer work hours while sustaining productivity. We still work full days and have fewer work force, as a result of competition based society. Therefore Capitalism= human extinction.

In Marx's era he points to advances in technology leading to declineing workforce do to unemployment and eventual starvation.

In western first world nations this same is still true but in a more gradual way by people having fewer children.

The same amount of work is being done but it's being done by fewer people rather than more people doing less work to acheive the same end.

What has happened here will happen everywhere else if capitalism isn't abandoned humanity will becdome extinct. <_<

You know, you are absolutely right.

Along with the Working Class nowhere near earning enough to support themselves and no more than 2 children, we have Career people, who sacrifice child rearing for their own, greedy gains. We have the Middle and Upper class, only having as few children as possible, because it's "fashionable."

Capitalism is killing the Western World. Capitalism is Killing the "Under-developed" world. Capitalism Kills.

The increse in technology frees-up skilled labour, and allows them to further revolutionise the means of production. It has nothing to do with starvation.

Yes, it is true that is western civilization, population have decreased (even in Japan! :o ). But that allows a surplus in food. Haven't you ever heard of the obiesity problems in Canada and the US? I have never heard of a correlation beetween an increase in the skilled labour force, and starvation!

"If capitalism isn't abandoned, humanity will become extinct"!

True 'nuff, however it will not be an increse in technology that does it.

Marx and I were talking mainly about unskilled labour, and in Marx's day when a machine was introduced to do the work of 50 people, 50 people lost their jobs and ended up as beggars, prostitutes, or starved.

The industrial revolution was the period Marx drew his observations from.

Oh yes, Cuba's population is just growing at amazing rates, since socialism has worked so great there.

Look at Latin America(capitalist according to many on this site), its so poor, yet people want to have more and more kids.  . They have more kids because, of ignorance I guess, I really dont know why they want to have more kids. Of course latin america is not capitalist, although by your definition it is so if Latin America=Capitalism=more people having more kids.  so your whole theory just went down the toilet.
Of course now after I just proved you wrong, everyone will stop calling latin american capitalism, cause capitalism cant be causing growing numbers of pop. right?

Cant it be that people just dont want to have 8 kids anyomre?
Look at Sweden, its anything but capitalist and they barely growing(the pop.)
really what a retarded post, so you want to go back 100 years when people had 8 kids and couldnt even really fulfill the needs of all 8 and I dont mean that economically either, with attention and all that other stuff also.

In a socialist society, when that technology is introduced, it just means everyone works less. No one loses their job. In this society, that's not true.

Capitalism = poverty

poverty= overpopulation

Of Course If you had read Karl Marx's work you would know that..... Or if you had even read the founder of Laissez Faire economics Adam Smith he showed the same thing.

But Adam Smith felt it was fine if poor people starved to death, bringing the population of workers down again. Then they increase then they starved.........................................et c.

That's the roller coaster that is Capitalism.
Rather than the stability and equality of communism.
Where wealth wouldn't be a factor in how many children you had because everyone receives an equal portion.
So people would likely have 1, 2, or 3 children suastaining or slowly raising the pop.

Yes, the equality of socialism, everyone is poor, of course except the gov. which distributes everything "equally".

You just contradicted yourself, you said Capitalism=declining pop.
now you say, capitalism=overpopulation?

Look at the USA, its not overpopulated even with millions of illegal immigrants coming in each year.

Capitalism has not overpopulated the USA, all though capitalism in the USA has caused millions of people getting into the USa each year just for a chance to get a better life.

You tottaly contradicted yourself, first capitalism=declining pop., now capitalism=overpop.?

and why has cuba grown so slowly? I know because they barley feed the people now imagine if they start having more kids.

The government is the people they receive the same as everyone else.
capitalismwants the poor to overpopulate thereby brining down the cost of labour.
The western world represents the later stages of capitalism or the upperclass.
The reason Cuba has a manageable growth rate is because they have one of the best educated populations in the world. r
The reason third world immigrants come to the U.S. is because that's where the wealth of their own nations is being funneled.

I didn't think I had to explain the ovious little details of my statements but apperantly I was wrong.

I'm at a loss as to how communism would solve this by perhap the deliberate halting of scientific advance so that we will always need people to do crappy jobs? Or perhaps the continued rape of the enviroment to sustain and imaginary market? Face it human population will decline and its not a bad thing its good, unemployment is a bad thing. And what the hell is this about extinction? Are you an itiot?

Whoa there, 99% of the world is capitalist, and for the majority of history, the entire world was capitalist and the population is growing now faster then ever.
