Roughly 700 ground crew workers at Toronto's Pearson airport walked off the job Thursday night after voting to strike during the busy travel season of summer holidays. The members of Teamsters Local 419 began picketing around 10 p.m. ET, after learning that 95 per cent of those who voted had rejected the offer from Swissport.

The union for 700 striking workers at Canada's busiest airport says the strike caused significant baggage handling delays Friday evening. Friday's delays lasted anywhere from 20 minutes to three hours, because experienced ground crew were walking the picket line, said Harjinder Badial, a spokesman for the Teamsters local representing the workers.

Since the 'NEWSFEED: US union struggles' and 'NEWSFEED: International Union Struggles' have been on the 'Practice' forum, I've been putting all labor (and environmental, and indigenous) news articles in Practice.

Please feel free to contribute any discussion about this current policy. Thanks.

You're not the one I will be taking advice from.

No, you didn't, the post you quoted was before I made the thread and was actually the post you made recommending that I start a thread about it which I later did. That thread has no replies. You clearly are inattentive in regards to what's going on here.

Go look in technical support.

My response is from this thread, and you're seeing it now. Your accusations are vacuous.

Your timeline is wrong. I'm about to start my shift so I can't get into this any deeper right now but if you look at when various things are posted you'll see what I'm pointing out.

I'm sorry, but I'm not getting your meaning -- you may want to include links to whatever material / posts you're talking about, and/or be more specific in general.

An ongoing strike at Toronto's Pearson International Airport has revealed the harsh working conditions of the airport's baggage handlers and grounds crew. Approximately 700 Swissport employees walked off the job on July 28, after rejecting the company's latest offer. The vote to strike was overwhelming -- 95 per cent.
