What is that building?

It's a government office building on the Plaza de la Revolucion. Fidel has an office in the building, so guards typically don't allow pictures in front of it (at least not too close).

No, Che had an office in that building which is why it bears his countenance, Fidel's official office is off to right of that picture - no tourist can get near it..

I just came back from my third trip to Cuba, i have a couple of pictures in the commie club but will post some here when I get the chance..

Moncada barracks, site of the July 26 rebellion where many of Fidel's first comrades where killed, some of them being brutally tortured after the event.. Now turned into a school, the bullet holes remain as testimony..

Nice pics people. I have a ton of pictures from my trip to cuba, so i will try to get them up when i have the chance sometime during the week.

Danton- how much does it cost for you to go to cuba from england? I was looking up flights so i can go from spain and it was over 3000 euros!!! That seems like a crazy amount to me. So im trying to find a cheaper way to get there. If not, i will have to try and go before i go back to spain.

LOL, Comrade!!!

I don't know if there's a statue of Lennon there, but there's a statue of Satan!!! It is totally cool too!!! It's a black stone carving of the fallen angel waving his clenched fist at the heavens. It is placed in the garden of Capitolio, the outrageously luxorious parliament of the gangster government Fidel and Che removed. They put it there to symbolise politics!!! This is simply too much symbolism in one thing!!! Amazing. I haven't been able to get a picture of that statue - so please anyone: If you can get it, get it for me and I will remember you!!!

I was there to study horticulture, which was very interesting as the Cubans are excellent farmers and gardeners! Go there!!! You are welcome to see some pictures from the trip; there's two galleries on the Danish horticultural students home page, a small (http://fhg.dsr.kvl.dk/FHG/Cuba2003/cuba03slideshow.html) and a bigger (http://fhg.dsr.kvl.dk/FHG/Cuba2003/skovs/Cuba_show.html). Enjoy.
