Earlier this week, Israel banned human rights supporters (http://org.salsalabs.com/dia/track.jsp?v=2&c=H33pW9uQ4Cx%2BLJ40qURX5iL8UfgaX3qK) from traveling with an interfaith delegation to Palestine. While five were banned, the rest of the delegation is currently on the ground meeting Palestinians and learning about their lives under Israeli occupation and apartheid.

Israel has for decades banned millions of Palestinian refugees (http://org.salsalabs.com/dia/track.jsp?v=2&c=1S3KGO9irO0smW%2Bt2uZS9yONs6xVf8Pv) from returning home as well as denied entry to and displaced countless more Palestinians, tearing families apart and destroying livelihoods. And it is routine for Israel to ethnically and religiously profile Arab and Muslim visitors too, something I experienced (http://org.salsalabs.com/dia/track.jsp?v=2&c=x4bgIy69YWckeI%2BnKRO8TSL8UfgaX3qK) directly last summer.
This latest case of activists being banned seems to be an escalation in Israel’s attempt to shut down organizing for Palestinian rights, particularly BDS (boycott, divestment, and sanctions). We need to not only fight for our right to boycott, but also continue to push ahead with our campaigns in support of freedom, justice, and equality to amplify the resistance of Palestinians to settler colonialism and ethnic cleansing for 100 years.
