Dear Friends,
Our dear and longtime CR Los Angeles member, KevinMichael Key, passed away last Wednesday evening after being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer last fall. He left this world surrounded by his family, loved ones, friends, and community. Our thoughts go out to his family and all those who knew him and are feeling this loss.
Family and loved ones are holding a funeral service today, which you can financially support by donating to [email protected] on Paypal.

KevinMichael was a longtime devoted performance artist and Skid Row activist, working with the Los Angeles Poverty Department (http://criticalresistance.us4.list-manage.com/track/click?u=b64cbc94231b3bae71ab83686&id=6590eb2e67&e=f269152a76) to raise and address issues facing people in the community, including imprisonment, policing, homelessness, drug and substance abuse. He embodied a deep commitment to fighting alongside those on Skid Row while combining performance with the fight to abolish the prison industrial complex, and we are ever inspired by his love for his work and community.
The community will be celebrating KevinMichael's life this weekend in the way he would've wanted - loud, festive, and in his community of Skid Row - and we hope that you join.

Saturday, July 29th at Gladys Park (corner of 6th and Gladys Avenue)
11am: Parade through Skid Row.
Noon: Back at Gladys park and open mic with Skid Row Artists and community.
