A crucial struggle is going down in a neighborhood on the South Side of Chicago. The police are enforcing a police state clampdown, driven by their fear that people in this neighborhood will connect with the Revolution Club Chicago, which is mobilizing people to stand up and resist the abuse the police are bringing down and organizing people into an actual revolution. This repression brings to mind the black codes enforced during the days of slavery to keep Black people down – laws that said Black people had to have permission from the slave master to leave the plantation, and that 2 or more enslaved people hanging out together was illegal. What these Chicago pigs are doing brings to life why I say today's police are descended from the slave chasers and the patrols from slavery days. The Chicago Revolution Club went into this neighborhood as part of carrying out the declaration of the the Revolution Summer Project: This Summer in Chicago Will NOT Be a Bloodbath of Killing Each Other; This Summer Will NOT Be Free Rein for Police to Murder and Terrorize Black and Brown People; This Summer We Get Organized for Revolution to Emancipate All of Humanity! The Revolution Club was mobilizing people to stand up to police terror and connecting people to the leadership we have for this revolution in Bob Avakian, the leader of the Revolutionary Communist Party. The pigs struck back, threatening and arresting members of the Revolution Club and threatening people in the neighborhood that they'll “get in trouble” if they talk to the revolutionaries, hang out with them or put on the BA Speaks: Revolution-Nothing Less t-shirts the revolutionaries are distributing. The system would rather see people killing each other than have them get with the revolution and stand up to what the system is bringing down on them. For its part, the Revolution Club has declared: “we mean what we say, and we will not back off or turn our backs on what we have started, or on the people who need this revolution. We will keep coming back and digging in, to strengthen this movement for revolution, to build up the bases, spread the influence and organize the forces we need to make revolution. We will not be scared off, backed down or driven away.”
Here's where all of you come in. What the police are doing in Chicago concentrates what the police do all across the country. If what comes out of Chicago this summer is that Black and Brown people are getting out of killing each other and getting into the revolution, this would have great impact nationwide. People in other cities would be inspired to get out of the violence and crime they are caught up in and get into the the revolution too.

Where: NYPD 34th Precinct, 183rd & Broadway
How: Take the A train to 181st Street, then walk downhill east to Broadway.
Joshua Lopez is the nephew of John Collado, who was murdered by an NYPD undercover in 2011. Joshua has been a brave fighter and organizer against police terror, and a spokesperson for justice for his family and for all families of all Stolen Lives. People are needed at a rally in front of the 34th Precinct in Washington Heights to call out the NYPD to stop its harassment against Joshua Lopez.
Joshua is being deliberately targeted by the NYPD for harassment, and who knows what else. In the past month he has been summoned five times by the NYPD. He beat one of summons, and paid another at $20. These tickets are mainly for quality-of-life infractions like having open bottles. Guess what: Joshua doesn't drink.
Upon returning from Atlanta from the Stolen Lives Family Tour last week, a NYPD cruiser passed his house and through its loudspeaker, a cop announced: "Welcome back, Joshua." Another time recently, a cop approached a friend to ask: "Where is that terrorist?" (Joshua has a teardrop tattoo on his cheek.) When asked who he meant, the cop answered: The guy with the teardrop.

After months of legal proceedings (which have included the district attorney changing its story and the charges being brought against the Stonewall 4, as well as Stonewall 4 attorneys winning a dismissal of the charges of Disorderly Conduct) they are now to be tried for Obstruction of Governmental Administration and Resisting Arrest. Each misdemeanor charge carrying a one year maximum sentence. The prosecutors are now claiming that somehow -- by being backed up against police barricades and surrounded by a dozen or so cops, then being closed in on by police, pushed around and dragged to the ground by police, and then arrested by police -- the Stonewall 4 prevented the police from doing their job!

▪ Call-in on July 31 through August 4th from 9 AM to 5 PM. Flood the District Attorney's and the Mayor's Office with phone calls to demand that all charges be dropped on the "Stonewall 4."

Background: Who are the Stonewall 4? What happened at Stonewall?
The Stonewall 4 are four people who were arrested at LGBTQ Solidarity With Muslims, a permitted rally held at the historic Stonewall Inn on February 4, 2017. They were opposing Trump's first Muslim Ban, and the regime's attacks on LGBTQ people. The Stonewall 4 includes Noche Diaz, who has been targeted repeatedly for years by the NYPD for his role in the NYC Revolution Club and with the Stop Mass Incarceration Network, especially in leading people to resist police terror, and standing with those brutalized and assaulted by police. Another defendant is a Revolution Club member who also faces outrageous charges in another case where police stalked, arrested and brutalized her on the way to a RefuseFascism.org event on Jan. 12, 2017. While in custody, she was forcibly sent to Bellevue Hospital for psychiatric evaluation because, according to her medical report, an NYPD cop said she "talked about her dislike of President Elect Donald Trump." This additional case is set for trial on Aug. 15.
At Stonewall, the 4 rallied together with thousands of other in two+ hours of chanting, speaking, and spreading thousands of flyers, stickers, and posters with the message of RefuseFascism.org: NO! In the Name of Humanity We Refuse to Accept a Fascist America!
As the rally was drawing to a close, several hostile Trump supporters appeared and began to harass the Stonewall 4, who stood their ground and did not respond. The Trump supporters walked away. At the Stonewall 4 were packing up to leave, they were surrounded by NYPD and then brutally arrested. The police gave no order to disperse and offered no explanation for the arrests. This is an early example of a disturbing and growing pattern whereby fanatical Trump supporters carry out harassment aiming to provoke an incident and create the pretext for police to arrest people exercising their right to protest and oppose this fascist regime.
