Yep, people are quite narrowminded and brainwashed by the supposed "Cold War." If you don't belong to an extremely narrow political spectrum, huge assumptions will be made by others.

lazier-faire??
Anyway yeah they are usually a bunch of "freedom defenders", especially of "economical freedoms" (it means that they only care of the freedoms that denfed their greedyness), which to me is a contradiction and only applies to their country (U$A), the rest of the world is like it is because they are lazy from nature and deserve to die
ElInfiltrado there has never been an actual capitalist country, you do realize this don't you? They are libertarians or laissez-faire capitalists, they want true pure unregulated capitalism. Most americans do not believe in this type of capitalism, hell most people in general do not believe in pure capitalism.

And what did I say that contradicts this???
I'm just saying that they live in their own world and everytime someone tries to regulate their beloved capitalism they start saying that people like you "want to take us to totalitarianism".
It seems to me that they are more than happy about their country's economy, because it's sooooo free...of course they think it can be even "better" but they still keep this crap of thinking that America is everything and other countries are starving just because their governments didn't accepted to be raped by the "glorious" U$A. So, i think they are only happy when things go well for them. The rest of the "laissez-faire" idea is just to keep getting profits.

Those guys are fucking freaks, man.
It took me less than 24 hours to get myself banned from there and I didn't even swear or anything.
The worst part is that any post they don't like, they just delete. Obviously, their arguments are so weak that they need to ban anyone who says something they don't like.
They're so fucked up though. The phrase you probably hear most often is 'tax is theft'.
Also, El_Profe goes there and posts the exact same things about Cuba as he does here.
I think he even copied and pasted it.

Y2A being called a Marxist is like a real Marxist calling the democratic party communists for thinking that workers deserve a minimum wage.
They think that reading a few Ayn Rand books makes them experts on the subject of free markets, but does baking a dozen cookies make you a chef, or painting a few pictures a perosn an artist? NO.
(But blowing up one embassy makes you a terrorists. (sorry, that's from my favorite SNL skit) ;)
I feel bad for you, I imagine you feel the way I do when I'm accused of being a skinhead for wearing Doc Martens.

Exactly, they deleted some of my posts aswell. In one I told him that he considers me "Marxist" because I am for certain regulations on capitalism (child-labor laws, pro-unionization, minimum wage laws, etc....) so then I said that by that logic The United States is Marxist because we have child-labor laws and minimum wage laws on legislation, and of course he deleted it. Jackass. Now I made a thread on the politics board asking if they justify the actions done by the United Fruit Company in Central America. The responses should be interesting.

I attack both capitalism and communism(I feel that for capitalism to help the lower class it must be regulated to some degree). I am a modern-day George Orwell with triple the intellect!

Because I'm not. I do not believe that the state should control industries, I just believe that the state should regulate private industries to insure the saftey of the worker and the consumer. But I actually do agree with socialists on many things.

Well, the Socialists usually want the government to only own large industries like steel and let the capitalism take it from there. I know, it rather strange...
The Socialist party is for regulated capitalism...
The Communist party is for state socialism...
The Anarchists (the don't get a party) are for by the book communism.
Pedro Alonso Lopez

I think he is more democractic socialist. As he accepts capitalist principles, the basis of it but believes it should be regulated and should be socialist in nature with reagrds to education, health services etc.
The socialism he goes for is not the pre-communist society socialism you are talking of.
John Galt

I agree with some regulations, but I suspect less than Y2A.
Does this mean America is a communist nation? :D
I admit I am wrong. America is a shining example of how marxism works
Pedro Alonso Lopez
5th March 2004, 14:25
If those guys are rite every Marxist may as well give up now, it seems that the psuedo-capitalists with their regulations have inadvertantly managed to create a Communist utopia in the USA.
MiDnIgHtMaRaUdEr
5th March 2004, 19:56
Well the Socialists (as in Socialist Party) is not for a government run economy, but merely for a regulated capitalist one. Where as the Communists (as in Communist Party) are for a completely socialist government run economy. It can be rather misleading... Most Socialists only want the government to run heavy industries that the rest of the economy depends on.
Well, here in Canada, we have "socialists", who are actually socialists, and "social democrats", who are basically like Y2A, I'd say.

NDP!
I can stand with some social-democrats, but I find that in the end they forget the restrictions and end up being Bush/Blair-like in policies.
Look at British Labour, european Green parties and Swedish "Socialism" for examples of how social democrats sell their values after 10 years in power.

I like the NDP socialist caucas and the New Politics Initiative, but not the mainstream NDP. They're too moderate for my liking. Jack Layton's new ad campaign (the english ads, at least), is focoused on winning the 'middle class' vote. The NDP has tried to be a 'party for everybody', which is, really, impossible. They've gotten 'too liberal' for their own good, and really put any serious leftists and socialists into complete alienatoin from the party. They've really sold out the grassroots and labour movements in favour of appealing to well- paid proffessionals and petty bourgeoisie.
I'm active within the NDP, but only so that I can make sure the more radical side of the party has as much imput as possible. The Riding Association where I live is pretty radical, so that's not too bad. I'm 'somewhat' on the executive as of right now, and, by next Sunday, barring any unforseen circumstances, it'll be official. I'll do everything in my (small) power to make the party a decent one.
Ten Years!!?!??!? Rae's NDP didn't wait ten days before fucking Ontario's labour. They may never have the trust of OPSEU again.
Anyway, the NDP Socialist Caucas doesn't seem to be working very well right now, but its site is here (http://www.ndpsocialists.ca)
And the New Politics Initiative is here (http://www.newpolitics.ca)

Maybe if you had read more then two books in your entire life, you would realize how much Fidel Castro and the Communist Party have done for the people of Cuba. When you start defending temporary dictators like Bush (Castro has no more power over Cuba then Bush has over us) you sound like a complete moron.
