The reason no-one has stepped in is that the west doesn't give a shit about people. And the commies can't help without the yanks bombing the people.
'International criticism has grown, and Britain's Foreign Secretary Jack Straw has said he may push for Zimbabwe to be suspended from the Commonwealth unless there is a return to the rule of law.'
Bet they're shaking in their boots now.

mugabe is horrible, as bad as the racist bastard ian smith who ruled them when they were rhodesia, which says a lot. my dad-the most non-racist person you could ever meet, but a neo-liberal-thinks that mugabe is worse than smith since smith just supressed people whereas mugabe does that in addition to killing white landowners and poor blacks and whites who work for them. he needs to get shot along with 3/4 of the rulers in africa.

I'm just wondering if anyone's dislike of Mugabe has to do with the fact that he undermines property rights.

No,I dislike him because of the way he silences the leftist opposition and press, and is ripping off his people just to hold onto power. The man is insane.
And I wouldn't say"here COMES another dictatorship"it's been one for over 20 years.

I have a suspicion that the reasons nobody has stepped in on Zimbabwe are
1) Zimbabwe runs their country only slightly more extremely than the United States
2) The natural resources mustn't be in demand

How does robert mugabe silence "leftist" opposition. The zimbawean opposition forces have been revitalized by Mugabe's land redistributions. They oppose Mugabe's measures, and so support the individual's right to own private property, and the white settlers land to own large segments of property. How then can you call this opposition leftist?
