I have been listening to a lot of the punk band Bad Religion lately. Amazing guitar, meaningful lyrics, and the best singer in punk... anyone else listen to them? What do you think?
They have free Mp3s available here (http://www.badreligion.com/badreligion/audio/audio.jsp).
My favorite songs would include: American Jesus, Sorrow, New America, All Good Soldiers, Faith Alone, Kyoto Now, 21st Century Digital Boy, Generator, Better Off Dead, The Answer, A Walk, and Punk Rock Song. Like I said... I have been listening to a lot of them lately.

You already know what I think :D
Kyoto Now, 21st Century Digital Boy, Better Off Dead, the handshake, infected, what it is, those are some of my faves. Especially handshake. Most of the songs off of stranger than fiction are good.

I like them quite a bit. I don't think that Graffin is the BEST singer in punk but I do enjoy their music.

I've always liked good vocal harmonies, and for those to exist in a punk band is pretty rare. I haven't heard many of their songs besides those on No Control (which I own) but from that CD, I think Billy and Automatic Man are good listens.

Propagandhi? I do not think Bad Religion and Propagandhi sound at all alike. I do enjoy both bands, but I think they are very different. If anything, I think Pennywise is along the same lines of Bad Religion, except that Pennywise is not as melodic.
celtopunk,
Who would you say is the best singer in punk? I guess Greg is my favorite because he is a great singer, with a deeper voice. I tend to like that more than the screamers, though there are a lot of great shriekers as well.

I'm not saying he's bad just probably not the best. Having said that I'm drawing a blank on who I think is the best. I'll leave out singers from now defunct bands. But I'm still getting a blank.

celtopunk,
Go ahead and include defunct bands... who are your all-time favorites? I would probably have Joe Strummer as my second favorite punk singer.
lost prophet,
I do like their older stuff as well, but I like their stuff from the last 15 years or so even more. I do not think the poor sound quality of their early recordings adequately captures their talents.

I've never heard any of their songs, i almost bought one of their albums once but i put it back cos it had a picture of them on the back and i didn't like their hair.

My favorite song of theirs is "Epiphany" off The process of belief." Good band. I like Pennywise more, though.

i dont think the sound quality matter, and giving up a favorite album because of it is just bollocks...
