What happens when a woman consents to sex with a man and then it becomes violent and she revokes consent? Well, in North Carolina, that man can legally "finish" having sex with her no matter what — essentially making rape legal in the state.
There is legislation to close the loophole, though. Sign the petition to show your support for making rape illegal in North Carolina. (http://www.care2.com/go/z/e/AXwVu/zthh/t8hl)
This is a disgusting loophole that allows rapists to pretend they are respectful, decent humans and then show their true colors without fear of legal action. As a society, we must continue to fight for legislation that supports the idea that "no means no." This kind of loophole prioritizes a man's desire to orgasm, even if he uses force, more than a woman's right to bodily autonomy and safety.
