Join us this Saturday, July 1st for the March For Sanctuary! We will be marching from the historic Sixteenth Street Baptist Church to City Hall to call on Birmingham to become a Sanctuary City. We want to celebrate the diversity of Birmingham and lift up the city as a beacon of justice and progress the face of damaging and unconstitutional federal tactics that target Latino, Muslim, and immigrant communities. We will call on the Birmingham City Council to swiftly approve the Sanctuary City Ordinance that we presented to the Council on June 13. Come march with us, and make our voices heard!
There will be music, dancing, taco trucks, and testimonies from community members. We'll be there RAIN OR SHINE because sanctuary can't wait. We need protections for our communities NOW.

When: Saturday, July 1st, 10:00 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.
Where: Start at Kelly Ingram Park (16th St N & 5th Ave N) at 10:00 a.m., march through the streets 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Rally in Linn Park in front of City Hall 12:30 to 1:30 p.m.
March Route: Kelly Ingram Park --> South on 16th St N --> Left on 3rd Ave N --> Left on 20th St N --> End at City Hall / Linn Park
If you can't join us in person, you can still contribute to Adelante (http://org2.salsalabs.com/dia/track.jsp?v=2&c=GA0fk0oTJaQHUeq3bPezqptywzRXnleg) to help us buy art supplies and other materials for the march!
