The day we unite for the Internet

BREAKING: We just announced an Internet-Wide Day of Action to Save Net Neutrality on July 12th, and already some of the most popular websites on earth have joined. Click here to learn how you can participate and make history. This is huge. Amazon, Etsy, Kickstarter, Mozilla, GitHub, and reddit have joined Fight for the Future and dozens of other organizations for a mass day of online protest to stop Big Cable and the FCCs attack on our Internet freedom.

Now theres hope! Massive online protests like these have changed the course of history in the past, from the SOPA Blackout to the Internet Slowdown.

But to save net neutrality, this one needs to be the biggest one yet, and we need everyone who is reading this to be part of it.

Click here to sign up for the July 12th day of action now! The free and open Internet is facing one of the greatest threats in its entire history. But we can save net neutrality if the Internet can come together.

The stakes are high. If Team Cable gets its way, the FCC will kill net neutrality and end an era of unprecedented openness online. Traffic throttling, website blocking, and extra Internet fees could soon be the new norm. And its clear they will stop at nothing to pull off this power grab.

In the past few weeks, Comcast has threatened to sue us,[1] our supporters have had fake anti-net neutrality messages submitted in their names by malicious actors,[2] and the FCC have consistently plugged their ears, hummed loudly, and pushed our concerns aside.[3]

But enough is enough. Its time to take our stand. Theres one thing Team Cable cant fake: real Internet users speaking up for real net neutrality. If enough of us stand up, we can convince the government to back away from this reckless plan to ruin the web.

On July 12, 2017, websites, companies, Internet users, and online communities will come together to sound the alarm about the FCCs attack on net neutrality. And we need your help.

Well rally tens of thousands of websites, social media users, online commenters, startups, and organizations, and provide everyone with tools to make it super easy for people to contact Congress and the FCC.

We need to make sure these decision makers listen to real people, not just telecom lobbyists and CEOs.

For the past few months, FCC Chairman and former Verizon lawyer Ajit Pai has been hell bent on destroying net neutrality to give telecoms immense control over what we see and do online. If he gets his way, the Internet is going to look a lot more like cable TV.

Without real, Title II net neutrality, some of your favorite websites could be forced into a slow lane online, while deep-pocketed companies who can afford expensive new prioritization fees have special fast lane access to Internet users.

But on July 12th, the Internet will come together to stop them. Websites, Internet users, and online communities will stand tall, and sound the alarm about the FCCs attack on net neutrality. And if you have ideas or want to help out, let us know. If youre someone who runs a high-traffic website, startup, or small business, your participation is extra important!

The Internet has taken a stand before. Remember the SOPA blackout?[4] The Internet Slowdown?[5]

Were doing it again. And were going to prove once and for all that when we all stand together, we can use the Internet to save the Internet.

Can we count you in?

For the Internet,
Tiffiniy at Fight for the Future.
