Invitation to Labor Fightback Conference in Cleveland (July 21-23)
The Labor Fightback Network Steering Committee invites labor and community activists to participate in the upcoming Labor Fightback Conference. The Conference will be held at Cleveland State University, Cleveland, Ohio, beginning in the afternoon of Friday, July 21, 2017, and ending in the early afternoon of Sunday, July 23, 2017.
The Conference’s overall purpose is to discuss new strategies for the labor movement. While all of us are excited by the large numbers of people who have gone into the streets to fight back against the Trump administration, we cannot forget that counterproductive strategies have contributed to the crisis facing working people and played no small role in Trump’s victory in the 2016 election. While scheduling details are still being worked out, the plan is to have a panel discussion on the overall theme of new strategies on Friday night, with three sessions of workshops during the day on Saturday, and then a program of speakers and music on Saturday night. A wrap-up discussion of what to do in the months ahead is planned for Sunday morning.
