i had some ideas, based on the fact that paris tolld me that we should always protest and not in a big meeting organized stuff but in every day life.

1 give some homeless ppl money ( like always)

2 try to get them organized so they go sit/stand and block an entire shopping street. would be cool to have like a 100 ppl blocking the 'kalverstraat' or something

more more more !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wana know how "Humaniterian" New York City is? People who beg for money... or clean windows of cars (Squegie people) for money... are considered a "Quality of life violation"... It was only 8 years ago that one would see the homeless lined up pan handling on the sidewalks... subway stations... etc...

Oh they are still there... sleaping in every noock and crannie one can find but begging for money is now a crime that's stricktly enforced by the mayor's Gestapo the NYPD.

Jiuliani's idea of housing for the homeless is jail cells... Bloomberg today said he plans on continuing this tradition.

Yes... we need to protest.. to organise the poor and homeless... and not just sit around and talk about it.

red celtic, we have similar laws in ontario as well. its called the safe streets act here. it criminalizes begging for money and squeegeing for money.

and there is not always a reason for being homeless. i have been homeless before. it was not because i wasn't working or anything like that. going to my parents was NOT an option. i simply wasn't making enough and couldn't find an apartment. you seem to imply imperial power that it is always the fault of the homeless person for being homeless. in truth that is Not always true. and don't tell me i don't know what i'm talking about. i've been there.

el che it was a result of old people and business people complaining because they were being 'harassed constantly' because of all the homeless people. if they can't beg for money the business people and old can ignore the problem.

Yes Yes... exactly Nickademus and now that Bloomberg is in office it will be yet another four years of Republicans who think that the way to deal with the homeless is to make it a crime.

Hey Look a new clean New York! The homeless now can't sleap in train stations... subways... etc... they now can't go earn money by Squegieing car windows or pan handling... so do these people still exist?

I ask you this.... have you ever priced an apartment in New York City? I personally have been homeless... living in my car for a time when I could not afford a place to live...now... was I homeless because I wasn't working? No I was homeless because I could not afford a place to live.

Oh... sure many are homeless because they are mentaly ill... but doesn't that say something about how we treat the mentaly ill?

And... there are many who are still out on the streets who are VietNam Vets. Have you ever stopped to meet these people? They are expecally eager to talk to militery people... when I was in the Navy.. I found them in every American City I was statiioned... not just in my home in NYC... but in Chicago, Philidephia, San Diego, Norfolk, all with the same story of how the USA Fucked them up with the chemical Agent Orange... yea... tons of people all over the nation on the streets complaining about the same thing that the Govt. denyed existed.

Now if you lived in a normal world... and looked at this you would say... "What the Fuck is wrong with You People" But... being that we all live in a Capitalist sociaty... we all should be awair of these laws... as they are ether implemented or soon to be implemented in your nearby city.

My brother hasn't got much respect for homeless people who just sit around and don't try to get out of their situation.

But what he respects is homeless people who try to get out of their situation like one's who get up and start selling the "Big Issue" or stuff like that.
