it may be complete 'gangster rap' shite, but they have to apeal to the ignorants with shite style with a good message

Did anyone else get this?

i think expectations were pretty low for this album for some reason. i guess most people think that prez was just sort of a one album wonder. after hearing this album i think they'll be around for awhile.
RBG is not as good as lets get free, their first album, but its still cool. Each song is a good listen, i guess they give you just what you'd think: hardcore political rap. a favorite moment of mine was a typical dead prez song about the dangers of alcohol: "i used to be addicted to cognac, now a days i train for combat". I like every song on the album, though there aren't any that really stand up and grab you.
A downside is that its so damn short. I would have thought that since they haven't had a real album out in 5 or 6 years they'd bring lots of tracks. instead there are twelve, with 2 'hidden' at the end making 14. however there are three different versions of the same song, bringing the track list down to 11! very short, but still good stuff. There is definately potential there. they've shown that they were no one album wonder, and that they've got plent of life in them. If you've got some extra cash around go get it, if not dont sacrifice dinner for it.
my copy was only $14 at a local store, so i guess that makes up a little for the brevity.

I thought it was a pretty good album. It was reallly short and I didn't like the fact that they have 3 diffrent versions of Hell Yeah, 2 is enough and the one with Jay Z is pretty good except that it's Dead Prez and Jay Z on the same track, kind of contradictory. And they had Radio Frequency which was on their fist mixtape, which was probally better than this album.

There is a good thing about having an album relativly short, there's no filler tracks on this album and you can listen to it straight through, several times.
