Chris,

Last week, pro-life protesters went to a public high school and shouted at students about the "holocaust of abortion." The protesters waved signs depicting bloody fetuses and told the teens exiting the school that "innocent children are being murdered in our society."

Dr. Ruff, an assistant principal at STEM Academy, saw his students being harassed, and took action. He told the protesters to leave, but they wouldn't. He tried to block out their gruesome signs with his body and their hateful shouts with his voice, but they kept up the harassment. (http://www.care2.com/go/z/e/Ax8a6/zSx./t8hl)

Unfortunately, the argument between Dr. Ruff and the pro-life protesters got heated. The incident was caught on tape, and Dr. Ruff is now on administrative leave pending an investigation.

STEM Academy students have started a Care2 petition calling on the Downingtown School Board not to fire Dr. Ruff, who was only trying to protect his students. Will you sign their petition? (http://www.care2.com/go/z/e/Ax8a6/zSx./t8hl)

In the video, you can see how worried Dr. Ruff is for his students. He tried to reason with the pro-life protesters, and told them to leave because his school and the kids who go there have nothing to do with abortions. When they refused and continued to harass him, he lost his cool.

Dr. Ruff should not have used profanity when dealing with the pro-life protesters, but he should not lose his job over the incident. He had every reason to be angry. One STEM Academy student said that the protesters were blocking traffic and that the dead baby depicted on one of their signs distracted her so much that she nearly rear-ended the car in front of her.

Please sign this petition to join in solidarity with the STEM Academy students, parents, and alumni trying to save Dr. Ruff from losing his job. (http://www.care2.com/go/z/e/Ax8a6/zSx./t8hl)
